Keera stood up and walked outside to where Ponic was. "Nothing," said Keera when she got to where Ponic was standing outside of the house. Ponic shook his head, "it means we might have to travel through the village and look around."
Keera shrugged and nodded, "Yes, but you know, Skylos was right. It would be dangerous for us to be out there openly." Ponic considered this for a moment and then nodded. "Let's see if we can get some help." Ponic closed his eyes and held out his hand. His eyes pulsed white and shadow power moved through his own shadow. Ponic's shadow glowed and then rose from the ground, Ponic spoke to it in a deep voice that pulsed and echoed, "carry my call through the dimensions! Go back to the cabin and bring us assistance." The shadow pulsed and then went into the air where it vanished, teleporting through the dimensions it shot toward the cabin.

Zoe was currently in her room playing catch with herself with an Ice Ball in boredom. Suddenly, a shadow appeared by her! "What's this?" She examined it.

The shadow would move toward Zoe and change into Ponic. "Zoe, I need some assistance in the Shadow Realm, are the others nearby?" Hopefully Zoe wouldn't get insulted by Ponic not assuming she would be help. More likely he didn't want her to get hurt rather than see her as pointless.

Zoe blinked a bit. "Uh, well, actually... They're off on some mission." She said. She had been volunteered this time around to keep the cabin. "Why? Is there something wrong?" She jumped up. "I can come!"

Ponic paused for a moment, considering and then nodded, "Very well then," he said. The shadow shifted from Ponic and suddenly changed into a shadow once again. It moved toward Zoe and wrapped around her, turning into a portal, Zoe would find herself transported through the dimensions and into the Shadow Realm. Suddenly she would appear in the Shadow Realm at the left overs of the house that Ponic and Keera were at.
The Shadow Realm's shades of grey, white, and black were indicative of it and likely be a bit unnerving for someone who had never been there before. Ponic stood up and walked toward Zoe. "Zoe, I hope the trip wasn't too uncomfortable."

Zoe was transported to the Shadow Realm. It felt a bit weird, but at the same time, she was very used to being transported through shadows at this point due to Markov being her boyfriend. "Ah, it was fine." She said, looking around. "Wow! This place looks like some kind of old flick!"

Ponic chuckled lightly, "You get used to it. I trust you and my brother are getting along well in Keera and I's absence?" At this point Keera came over to Zoe as well. "Hello Zoe, welcome to the Shadow realm.

Zoe chuckled a bit, half in embarrassment and she coughed a bit. "Yes, we're doing fine." Then she looked over to Keera. "Hi, Keera! This place is great! But what did you need me for?"

Ponic looked at Zoe for a moment and then chuckled himself. "Indeed, I'm sure you are." Keera then gave Ponic a slight jab on the arm, "Ok, now stop being unnerving or she'll think you turned into Neon. Anyways, Zoe, we came here looking for information on my family from before they were killed. This is where Ponic, Markov, and I used to live," she indicated the broken down but still usable house behind her. It had for sure seen better days, clearly no one had taken care of it even after the end of the Shadow Warrior reign.

"Oh!" Zoe said. "That interesting! I'll get to learn a bit about Markov's past and family." She grinned. Markov didn't talk about his past much, really, so any opportunity she would take. "So how can I help?"

"Sorry, Zoe, but you'll have to keep waiting on that," said Ponic. Keera produced a single paper, "This was all we could find. Someone must have stolen their other works." On the paper was a map of the Shadow Realm but it was partially wrecked by time and had also seen better days. "That is where the help came into play. That means Keera and I will need to go into the village to look around for them, which is not a particularly safe prospect. There are a lot of people who'd be happy to see us dead," finished Ponic.

Zoe's eyebrows raised. "Really? But why?" That sounded shocking to her. Plenty of people wanting Ponic and Keera dead? How could that be? Did that mean Markov was in danger too?

"Well, after the Shadow Warriors were eliminated from our village there was a bit of a power vacuum. There's a functioning governing body now but a former warzone will never be truly stable. Some people are grateful for what was done but there are some former Shadow Warrior sympathizers who were in good with the former Shadow King's governing body that they are dissatisfied. So yes they would see Keera and I as the faces of what was done, and want us dead because of it."

"Wow." Zoe still looked a bit shocked. "Well then! I suppose it's a good thing you brought me to be your body guard, eh?" She said, chuckling, knowing she was sounding a bit like Markov with his lofty attitude!

Ponic chuckled, "You really have been spending a lot of time with Markov in recent times." Keera smiled and nodded, "We better get going, this house is on the outskirts of the village so we should travel there by shadow, quickly. There may be someone who can help us, if he hasn't closed up shop and left."
"You can't be serious," said Ponic. Keera shrugged, "Unless you have a better idea," she then nodded to Zoe since likely she would have no idea what Keera and Ponic were talking about. "His name is Vextrutas. He's a deserter from the Shadow Warrior ranks, and he's not particularly trustworthy but anything involving this village he seems to know about. He's very well informed, best we keep our guard up if we go there."
Ponic sighed. "I don't like it, but let's go," Ponic would teleport them to the village. The village was in a similar state to the house, some buildings were wrecked but many were put together. It bespoke of a place that had once been a war zone and still bore the scars but was trying to pick up the pieces. Shadow Wielders walked up and down the streets going about their business. Zoe would even smell the aroma of a few foods against her nose as the three of them would walk. Ponic seemed to be trying to keep his head down to not attract unwanted attention.

Zoe nodded. "Got it. Keep an eye on the suspicious ex-badguy." She gave them a wink before they were teleported.
Zoe was quiet up until the point that the food hit her nose. "Oooooh, I smell some goodies!" She said, eyes wide, not too loud, but not too quiet either.

As they walked Ponic looked at Zoe somewhat wide eyed, sure attract attention why don't you! One of the nearby vendors seemed to notice Zoe and walked over to her holding some kind of food. By the smell it appeared to be a type of fried meat, but likely it was not the same as what was on Earth. "Little madam, can I interest you in some fried glowich?" Keera leaned to Zoe and said, "earth equivalent would be a type of fish."

"Ooooo~" Zoe said, but then frowned. "Oh wait. I don't have any Shadow Money... Blargh." She said, sounding disappointed. "Uhm, no thanks. We're in a rush on our way to, er, church!" She said with a wave.

"Where are you from?" asked the vendor, who had a very puzzelled look on his face, not knowing what a church was. This was compounded by the extremely obvious fact that Zoe was not a Shadow Wielder due to her light skin. Keera nodded to the vendor, "We're not interested, thank you," she said walking along. Ponic had stopped at a nearby cross walk and was staring down the street.
"Down there," he said when Keera and Zoe had caught up. "That was where our family used to live..." he muttered.

Ponic nodded and looked down at the left overs of the buildings. "Yes, down there," he said, slowly walking down to it.
"Ponic, I'm not sure we should," began Keera, but Ponic had already headed down the hill to the ruins of his old house. Keera looked at Zoe and motioned for her to come with. It was not the best of ideas for anyone to be left alone in the Shadow Realm.

Zoe followed along, being quiet and solemn along with the other two. All the ruins around her were starting to really sink in. Heaviness of the situation. Often she was very lighthearted but at this moment she couldn't help but also feel the ghosts all around this place weighing on her heart.

The houses were, as Zoe observed, very run down in this area. It seemed reconstruction had not gotten here, if ever it was going to. Ponic got toward the ruins of one of the houses, it was the left overs of his and Markov's house. "Ponic," said Keera, putting her hand on his shoulder, "we shouldn't stay here long."
Ponic said nothing and continued to look at the ruins of the house. He pushed through the left overs and looked. "This was the living room," he said, lowly, a tone of anger and sadness in his voice. Ponic was gazing so hard at the room that one could imagine he was seeing himself and Markov as children when they would play here together. "Our parents were up the stairs," Ponic sighed and continued to look around the wrecked house that seemed like it was ready to fall at any second.
As all this was going on someone came up behind Zoe and put a hand on her shoulder. "You not from around here are you?" he said, quietly in her ear.

Zoe was walking slowly with them, letting Ponic take his time and have his precious moments here. She was quiet, that is, until the hand touched her shoulder. "Meep!" She squealed, whipping around in surprise to see who this was. When she saw it wasn't a demon-possessed blood-sucking eel from the deep, she tried to regain her composure. "The only white girl in town? I think not."

"Why do you travel with them?" said the stranger, "it's not safe, and you being an outsider won't help matters." If Zoe took a moment to look around she would find that the neighbourhood was completely quiet, which was odd. It would make little sense for a neighbourhood to be completely quiet. "Take my advice, ditch your travellers and return to the dimension where you are from. It's not safe to be here," with that the stranger vanished in a shadow.
Zoe would then hear a small creak from not very far away. Keera and Ponic appeared to be a bit too consumed with their current affairs to notice.

Zoe did find it strange that Ponic and Keera seemed to not notice what happened at all. But Ponic and Keera are two of my most trusted friends. They'd never let anything happen to me. She thought. "Plus. I can take care of myself." Zoe half-frowned and then caught up to the two. "Quiet place, huh?"

Keera turned toward Zoe, "What are you talking about?" asked Keera, looking around, then she realized how quiet the neighbourhood was. "Ponic," said Keera looking at him to try to break him out of his reverie. Ponic paused and looked at the neighbourhood. "It is, oddly silent," he muttered. Ponic attempted to send out a sense for shadows but received nothing back in return, not a single shadow around them. "That's weird," said Ponic, "I sense no shadows, nothing..."
While Ponic was saying this a large shadow appeared from behind him with a blade and moved to strike him in the neck...

Zoe raised an eyebrow. "No shadows? Wouldn't that basically have to mean there was absolutely no light?" Unless Ponic was just talking about human shadows. That was probably it. Then, seeing as Zoe was facing Ponic, she easily saw the shadow appear behind him and she gasped. "PONIC! BEHIND YOU!" Zoe instinctively blasted freezing Water Orbs at the shadow, trying to push it away from Ponic.

The shadow was hit by Zoe's strike and blasted partially back, and Ponic dove forward and out of its range as well. The shadow would look perverted in a way. Ponic, Keera, and Markov's shadows were smooth perfect silhouettes of whatever they were cast out of, however that was not the case of this shadow. This shadow seemed more jagged, like someone had thrown something together in their spare time and it seemed to be just wrong. The shadow melted away into the ground, and suddenly the entire house ruins began to shake.
"Everyone out, now!" called Ponic, getting up and running for the door. Keera grabbed Zoe's hand and also ran with her for the nearest exit.

Zoe noticed how weird the shadow-attacker looked. Like something horribly corrupted! She took hold of Keera's hand and ran with her. Luckily, they were still downstairs, so the back door was close and it was hanging open clinging to its last unbroken hinge. They sprang out into the daylight just in time! "What was that thing!?" Zoe asked, breathing heavily as they were getting themselves farther away from the home.
