Elsewhere...
Through the woods walked a tall, thin man. His body and face were almost entirely covered by a long, dark blue cloak and hood which seemed to shimmer in the twilight under the trees. In one hand, he carried a long wooden staff, on one end of which was a silver sickled-shaped blade. Both the blade and the staff itself carried many elegant and mysterious markings which looked to be runes of some sort.
The man stopped at the entrance to a clearing. In slow, deliberate motions, he removed a gourd from a pocket inside his cloak. It was empty, he held it out at arms length and seemed to be concentrating. Slowly but surely, the gourd filled with water. The man smiled; his mouth and smooth, beardless chin were the only parts of his face which could be seen. He drank the water, again slowly and deliberately, and finished with a small "Ah..." of appreciation

Elios smiled, half-ruefully, half-mysteriously. "Of sorts, but none so effective as that should have been, I'm afraid. Fortunately, water is the most versatile of elements. A wise man once said: 'A skilled fire mage can do just about anything with heat and energy. A skilled water mage can do just about anything else.'" When he'd fallen to the ground, his hood had fallen back, revealing a head of long, silver hair, blue-gray eyes and a slim, gold circlet with an azure jewel which glinted in the sunlight.
