[Ralph's character] [Fourth Thread]
[12/25/08] [Page 125] [Post #3736]
The voice, whatever it was, did not respond. Instead, the ground behind Acerbus and Yamiken abruptly erupted, spewing forth a fearsome creature. It was entirely skeletal, and massive, towering several times the average person's height into the air. It had no visible legs - rather, the inhumanly sloping backbone just disappeared into the ground, a massive, cavernous ribcage, long, powerful arms disproportionate in size to the torso and, to quite literally top it all, a villainous-looking skull with a gaping, grinning mouth and evilly-glowing red lights in its eye sockets. Small - compared to the rest of the creature, at least - spikes ringed the skull's crown. But perhaps even more disturbing than this monstrosity was the man who stood on its right shoulder.
He was in many ways an exact clone of Yamiken, but there were several crucial differences. Firstly, his long hair was a deep, raven-black. Second, his skin was a bleached bone-white, paler even than the yellowed bones of the creature he bestrode. Third, his eyes - the pitch black pupils were ringed with blood-red irises, streaks of which webbed the surrounding whites. Fourth, he was dressed not in armour but in a long, flowing black cape with a viciously jagged hem, complete with sleeves in a similar vogue. The clothes he wore underneath were also black as coal. And finally, for a weapon, he had not a katana like Yamiken, but a huge scythe, which currently rested against his right side, the blade curving behind head, the long, bone-white fingers of his white hand resting possessively on its shaft.
"Well... what do we have here..." the man murmured in dangerous tone. His voice, like his appearance, bore similarities to Yamiken's, but it had a subtle difference to it. It sounded... deathly. This was the best word to describe it. Quite accurate it was too.
Yamiken himself spun to meet this new threat... and his jaw dropped. "No..." he whispered hoarsely, his cool for once escaping him.
