Existence is divided into a number of different Realms. The most well-known of these, is, of course, the Primary Realm. This is where most life dwells, and, if you are reading this is, most likely the Realm in which you live. I will say no more on it, for there is too much to say, and it is barely relevant to this essay.
Of the other Realms, there were once just sixteen. Eight served a specific purpose and still do to this day; the other eight have changed somewhat, but have always beeen the most important besides the primary. But now, there are far more Realms than those sixteen*; indeed, it seems increasingly likely that they are infinite in number. Most, however, are bleak and unpopulated. I shall therefore limit myself to describing those of significance alone.
Each Universe has its own compliment of Realms; that is to say, like the Primary Realm, there is one version of reach Realm for each different universe. However, perhaps due to the abnormal levels of magic assosciated both with the Realms themselves and with getting to them, there seems to be a much higher rate and magnitude of variation between each Universe's Realms than between their respective Primary Realms. Note that there is also an exception to this rule: Heaven, Hell and the Daedric Realms are all unique, although in the case of the former two, it is possible for the dead to access them even if they are not Unique Souls. The exact metaphysics of this are something I have never had the oppurtunity to study, though not for lack of interest; this is, I am afraid, a gap you will have to fill yourselves.
Travel between the realms is fairly simple, and any who has the ability of teleportation in general can manage it quite easily. Of course, as with teleportation in general, it greatly help's to know where one's going; reaching a new Realm is therefore more difficult than travelling to a known one, if only marginally.
Finally, you may ask who I am to know such things, and these queries will only increase as you read on and see what I have to tell you. Let me assure you, it is all fact which I would testify to had I the time or the inclination. Some of the claims may seem shocking, but I have witnessed many of them myself, and the rest were common knowledge in my original time. I shall say no more; there is no point. I cannot afford to have my existence disturbed, so giving you the knowledge with which to track me down and grille me further on this subject is out of the question. You may therefore choose to disbelieve me; there is little I can do to change that, save to point out that any tests you can run will prove what I say henceforth. I hope what you can test will lend to credence to my words on what you cannot. Use this knowledge as you see fit; it is only my wish that civilisation reach the heights I once knew it to.
*Here after, the Primary Realm will be excluded from all Realm counts.
