Upon returning to the Upper Realm, Skylos, Neon, and Peter made their way to a grand feast that had somehow appeared during the time they had separated from everyone else. They sat themselves at the table, but at different places since there were only three chairs left. Peter sat in between Lareo and Tom, Skylos in between Tranductus and the Ex-Sol Demon, and Neon in between Sid and Chuck... Everyone started eating the food; shockingly the ex-demons had rather good table-manners. After the meal had finished and stories were all shared out, Skylos noticed that the demon who's name he didn't know was being rather anti-social. He looked like he was having a hard time with the whole dinner party idea. Skylos decided to get to the bottom of this. He nudged the ex-demon and he turned to look at him. "Why are you so quiet? Is this...awkward?" The ex-demon frowned. "I haven't been with people for so long. It's just...strange." He shook his head and excused himself from the table. Skylos looked around and found that he wasn't the only ones who had left.
Neon and Skoteinos had left at some point. Neon had followed Skoteinos when he saw him leave...and because Chuck and Sid were...too much. Skoteinos had wandered up to the roof. His pants jingled a bit when he walked since the metal chains bounced around and hit one another. It was a very interesting thing that had occurred when the demons turned human. Their robes were replaced with human clothing that matched their powers and personalities. Skoteinos was of course put into an all black, gothic design. He sat on the roof and Neon joined him. They simply shared the silence.
Peter had left when he saw Felix escape, which was right before the Ex-Sol Demon left. Incidentally, they used the same door, so The Ex-Sol Demon was suddenly out by the fountain with Peter and Felix. None had tried to make conversation after five minutes. Finally, Felix gave a sigh. He had a burning question that just couldn't wait any longer. "Solus, how did you become a demon?" The ex-Demon bit his lip. "It's Maximilian..." he replied and shook his head and removed a small leather-bound book from his orange dress-shirt pocket. "I'll read you my diary...journal. Whatever you want to call it." Even Peter looked up in interest. "Entry one." he began.....
May 26th, 5417 A.P.: "I write this journal as today was the first day at my job. I am a researcher, striving to better Prime. I work for the Central City Research Inc., which has the most amazing view at sunset. It's on the highest spot in the city...and it's just wonderful! You see...there's this woman here - her name is Amber - and I want to take her up to the roof... Oh it would be marvelous! In other news, I'm not allowed on the 5th floor. I think that's the executive floor or whatever... it only makes me want to go there more! Maybe I'll catch a glimpse sometime."
May 27th, 5417 A.P.: "Amber seems to like me a lot. Actually, apparently she is a top person in the company! She asked me if I would like to be of help on the 5th, floor, and I agreed, no questions asked. Management, here I come!"
May 28th, 5417 A.P.: "Alright... I was getting a bit hasty. Management is something very far off. At the moment, I'm being more of a mechanic and I am fixing the most bizarre of machines they have up there. The other researches there said they weren't given the 'O-K' to tell me what it was for, so I am left in the dark on this one. I'll ask Amber about it tomorrow."
May 29th, 5417 A.P.: "Amber went all vague on me about the machines and said she just manages the researchers and doesn't really know what the machines do. I have the feeling that she is lying to me... But oh well. She must have a good reason. Perhaps it's a safety issue? Or maybe some new thing that she doesn't want me to blabber on about outside of work."
May 30th, 5417 A.P.: "My last day of work for the week. Thank goodness that it is Friday! Work was very uneventful today, so I'm just going to end my entry here." "I just got an urgent call from work, calling me to come in. I of course will hurry there." "I saw something I think I shouldn't have... I had no idea that this research was bio-based. Ugh...I don't know what all of that stuff was. Come Monday, I'll have too many questions!" "I got another call; they want me to come in on Saturday. Great."
May 31st, 5417 A.P.: 8:00 A.M. "I've decided to take my diary with me so that I can write everything down that I hear about these experiments. I don't want anything left out." 9:00 A.M. "I'm at work now and in the elevator. I think I should hide this, so I'm putting it in the inner pocket of my lab coat." 9:10 A.M. "I never noticed before, but it has come to my attention that the researchers on the 5th floor remind me of drones. Better yet, that goes great with Amber's name since it's like honey's color. The machines around be buzz...It's just like being in a beehive, almost. Anyways... I'm sitting in the restroom writing this. I was shown what the machine does...and it's...well, amazing, but somewhat cruel. This program will be shut down if it's found out. At the moment, the machine is only being tested on animals... Though I did hear rumor of it being used on humans a few times. It alters the brain somehow... That is currently all I know. Well this is all I can write for now. I have to get back to work." 3:00 P.M. "It seems that everyone is on break right now. I'm going to take this opportunity to take a look at this machine by myself."
Maximilian cleared his throat at this point. His posture seemed to stiffened as he prepped to read the next passage.
June 1st, 5417 A.P.: "Sunday. I should note that I used the machine on myself... Of course I set it up so that it acted on me in a different way from the others. Suddenly, my mind is filled with thoughts I would have never thought of before. Come Monday, I'm going to take over and start some experiments for myself. I've though of a rather potent way to take control of a mass amount of people. I will definitely use it to my advantage."
June 2nd, 5417 A.P.: "Before I leave for work, I'm just making myself a mental note that this is the day that changes everything."
Maximilian sighed before beginning the next part. "There are no dates for the rest of the entries. You'll see why in a minute."
Unknown: "Why has this happened? I don't understand this... I was able to control everyone there...and I was ready to make this widespread via radio waves. But no...I am suddenly confronted by some sort of power that has ejected me...from the universe. I know not where I am now... I'm frightened."
Unknown 2: "I feel better now. I think it was just initial shock...and it's worn off now. This place is actually quite lovely. It's like I'm floating around aimlessly in space. The stars are all around me, and there is a giant one, like a sun. There's also a quite distinctive energy source here. It's really powerful. Maybe I can coax it out? Though it might not be alive..."
Unknown 3: "I can't remember when I last wrote in this. My hair doesn't grow...and I'm sure that days had to have gone by...Unless I only sleep for five minute intervals. The annoying thing is, I have nothing to do here. The only thing with me is my journal. Reading the older logs is upsetting... I was such a kid before my intellect boost."
Unknown 4: "I think I might be going insane. I crave nothing to eat, and nothing to drink. I feel...perfect. I just don't know what to make of this place."
Unknown 5: "At first I thought I wasn't getting anywhere by swimming in the empty space, but I have noted that the sun looks closer. So maybe I am getting somewhere."
Unknown 6: "The sun is huge! I must have drifted to it while I slept. Or perhaps I'm being drawn into it to my doom. What a way to end..."
Unknown 7: "Weeks...Months...Years. It doesn't matter. I have no idea how long I've been gone. This exile must be some punishment. But I didn't even successfully take over... Is an attempt just as bad as the real thing?"
Unknown 8: "I feel no heat, yet I stare into this great ball of fire. Stranger yet, I touched it. I'm in no way scorched, and my journal is not ash. I wish there was someone here to explain this to me. I just don't understand, even with my increased knowledge."
Maximilian smiled slightly as he started the next entry. Apparently, something good must have happened at this point.
The Prime Nexus, where time is nonexistent: "I entered the sun and went to its very core. To my amazement, the core fit into my palm... Of course the only reason I know this is because I took the core. It bonded with me and I could finally feel warmth... The best part was the knowledge that flowed into my mind. I knew where I was, and when. I was right above the Universal Nexus... In a space in between Prime, my world, and the Universal Nexus. This core had been sitting here since the creation of the Universes. My body had been transformed into a phoenix like shape. I was made up of reds, oranges, and yellows now. I'm not usually this vain, but I must say that my eyes are entirely awesome and no one will ever have any that are cooler. On another note, I can now go anywhere in the Universes that I want. What's even better is that now i can take over all of the Universes if I wanted...I have what seems to be a limitless amount of power. Plasma is absolutely amazing! My only problem now is that controlling people will be strange. They don't even look like me now. I'll be treated as some sort of demon or something. They'd be right... My blood has turned black... and I've found out that it has the properties that meet my needs to control everyone. The only problem with administering it is that I'm a giant phoenix. Everyone will run when they see me. So I thought on it some and I decided that since I am omnipotent, I will just spread my power to form other beings that are offshoots of me. It was simple, really. I counted over 20 different types of demons that I created. I have made realms for them and they are now turning people as I write this entry. It's only a matter of time before I win and control everything. Nothing will ever stop me.
The Realm of Solus the Omnipotent, where no time will ever faze him: "Maximilian am I no more. Solus seems to be a better name, so I have taken it on. I am pained to say that I have made an error that had cost me much... I overlooked that some of my emotions should not be turn into power. My destruction, my chaos, my scorn... They have merged into a demon that opposes me. How unsightly! How dare it hate its creator! I am sickened by its behavior. It goes around to unfortunate Universes and destroys them. How will I control everyone if they die?!"
Maximilian paused and then gave Felix an amused look, before continuing.
The Realm of Solus the Omnipotent: "Time is irrelevant to me now, but today I was pestered by someone. A man in a strange two-toned robe came to me pleading. Apparently, he had heard of my good works and wanted my power. Share? An imbecile. His self-righteous attitude was unamusing. A blasted him right out of the realm and saw him hit the Nexus below me. Though I then became interested with the Nexus because of him. I saw the most interesting things... Time Ghosts. It was quite interesting what I saw while this Omni person was knocked out. I saw him talking to someone as though it were a farewell. There were all of these people behind the two and they looked ready for war. It was quite strange, but it amused me to no end."
Maximilian closed the book. "You honestly don't want to hear anymore; I think you got the point." Felix scratched his chin. "You know...that really did hurt... But what you described with the Time Ghost happened about eighty years ago." Maximilian shrugged. "I really don't know how long ago that was. I have no idea how old I am either. But it really doesn't matter. I'm quite content with being human... and keeping my powers is a plus as well." Peter chuckled and spoke. "Ah. You're happy because you could still take over the Universes. Maximilian grunted, but someone else spoke. It was Skylos who had appeared at some point. "Sounds like Yamiken. You two would make good friends." He joked. Felix turned and saw that Skylos wasn't the only one who had arrived during the reading. Neon had appeared at some point, as well as Zestos, katie, and Cerulean. No one appeared to follow up, so Maximilian replied. "Who is Yamiken?" Neon was the one to answer. "No one important..." he crossed his arms, adamant in not caring for him.
Peter, on the other hand, tensed. With his memories of being Hanzo in his head now, he knew exactly who he was talking about. Felix sensed this and wished he could redirect the conversation somehow. A sudden inspiration hit him. "Alright...Party's over. Aren't you kids about ready to pass out from being awake so long?" he received the desired result. Zestos and Katie suddenly realized that this was true. Cerulean had to stabilize them both to get them back in. Maximilian said his good nights and went off as well. This left Skylos, Neon, Felix, and Peter. Neon, sensing a reason for the sudden break-up of the crowd, took Skylos's arm and practically dragged him inside. Once alone, Felix spoke. "Want to come to my house? I think I have some things that belong to you there." Peter was curious about actually being able to walk in the house this time. He had been a core on his last visit. "Alright. Sounds good." Omni and Peter both fazed out and then fazed into the house. "Home sweet home!" Felix grinned.
Felix then froze as he sensed someone else here, a Dark aura. From the artificial Darkness of the living room, he could see a familiar face. "Felix?" Came a bewildered question. Peter tensed, knowing the voice.
Neon and Skoteinos had left at some point. Neon had followed Skoteinos when he saw him leave...and because Chuck and Sid were...too much. Skoteinos had wandered up to the roof.
