Kavisto had everyone in Jake's group assemble at the briefing room. It appeared they were getting a rather important mission today. "This is a routine mission." Kavisto then started off. Okay... Nevermind. "Simply, travel to the Nord–Pas-de-Calais region of France to our base in Lille. For an unknown reason, we cannot contact them and they are not connected to the grid like normal. It's possible that it is a power failure or some other failure of equipment, but we would like to make sure they are not in any danger. It would be odd if it's power failure because there are back-up generators." On the holographic display on top of the table showed the northern most part of France. It was lightly pulsing red to show where they were headed.

Trevor paid close attention to the mission given to them. "It does sounds routine indeed. But you never know. They could be under attack," Trevor agreed with Kavisto. There wasn't a lot to say at the moment. He was ready to depart whenever.

Aqua was sitting as well, arms folded. "Im a little worried. I mean if you aren't checking in, and its a simple power failure, there are ways around that to inform us here." Aqua said. She was also ready to depart when ready.

Maura listened intently. So far, her only two missions had been going to the Darkness Realm, and basically trying to stop a bunch of psychos from destroying essentially everyone they knew. She couldn't say she had high hopes for this one. "I don't know.. I'd like to think it's just a power failure, but it sounds suspicious.." she frowned. What would they meet when they arrived?

Jake nodded his head. "Let's assume the worst so that we are not taken unaware." Jake then turned to Kavisto. "So... Any mission related items you want to loan us...?" He looked at him expectantly.
Kavisto kind of looked at him for a few moments, then sighed. "If you insist." Kavisto had the display change into schematics for each item he introduced. "The Light Prism for communication is standard equipment, something of which you should already have on you at all times. As a reminder, it can also take extremely detailed scans of anything it examines. In a pinch, you might want to use detonate it to cause a severe pain to nerves in the mouth. It's something that could possibly distract your assailant long enough for you to escape a difficult situation."
Kavisto moved on to something that looked like a standard flashlight. "The FlashPower is disguised as a run-of-the-mill flashlight; however, its purpose is to fire out a surprise beam of Power that is fed into it."
Jake then proceeded to take one off the table and test it out. He pressed the circular indention on the flashlight look-a-like and it suddenly shot out a beam of condensed Fire.
"...Yes. Like that. You may want to try to use that when you are unable to use Power without being sensed. The Power fed into the FlashPower can be done in advanced so that you won't be sensed using Power." Kavisto then moved to a third item. "And lastly... This has just come out of development so it may still have a few kinks to work out." He placed a simple jumpdrive on to the table. "This should be able to unencrypt computers and the like. I am told it is still a work in process, but this is the first and only one produced. Use it well, if you find the need to even use it."
Jake then added. "We're also taking one of the trucks. We don't want to draw attention by teleporting there."

"Yes, that's a good idea," Trevor said in agreement of Jake's idea with the truck as he picked up a FlashPower for himself. "Nice gadgets, Kavisto. And of course, I do have my Light Prism on me already. Who wants to carry the flash-drive?"

Maura didn't necessarily volunteer for carrying such an expensive/rare piece of equipment.. Besides, Jake had all those pockets. He seemed quite responsible enough for that task... (and she really didn't want to get fired for losing that thing. Woops! I was just flying la-dee-da and dropped it into a pit of acid! Soorryyy!)
Instead, she nodded along. "I have my Light Prism too. Do we all get a FlashPower?"

Aqua found it a little odd that they were getting gadgets to carry. They never really needed anything before, and she suddenly felt like she was in some kind of spy show or something. Well I don't really have pockets to carry anything in. And im not sticking that thing in my boobs. The last time I tried that, that one euro was itching and scratching.....Really uncomfortable......I need to sew some pockets on this thing or something. Maybe carry a pouch... "I know nothing about computers. Maybe Jake should, since he asked for toys." Yes, let's go with that.

"...Why do I suddenly feel like I've been set up?" Jake then questioned. He took the ultra-important-one-of-a-kind jump drive and put it in his pocket.
Kavisto nodded his head. "Yes. There are enough FlashPowers for everyone. They were manufactured some time ago and donated to us. I have...more than I know what to do with..." Fun fact, everyone in the Group had this item too, as Omni had given all of them one (except Arianna because she hadn't been a member of the Group yet). "Anyway. I have nothing else to brief you with, so you can get going."
Jake stood up. "Okay. We'll try to get this done quickly. Shall we head to the garage, team?"

"Careful, Jake, you're going to jinx the mission," Trevor said it as a joke. He didn't really believe in that superstition. But his sister used to often nag him about stuff like that. It might go something like 'don't say we'll get it done quickly! Now it's going to take forever!' He shook his head a bit at his own thoughts. "Indeed! Let's go!" Trevor was ready!

Maura stood up as well. "Alright.. I guess that's it!" and began to head out with the others.
Now Arianna will never be one of the cool kids.

Aqua actually liked riding around in things like cars. It was a strange mode of transportation for her, since she didn't grow up with it. "Yeah, let's go. Hopefully we wont need to be fighting anyone." Though to be honest, Aqua did want to put her training to the test, but not at the risk of lives.

"I doubt any jinxing will occur." Jake then noted matter-of-factly to his peon lower-ranked colleague. They walked the distance to the garage, then Jake turned on the lights. Inside was only one vehicle. It appeared that all of the others were either out for repairs, or they were simply in use. The truck in front of them was fairly standard issue, with canvas over the top of the back where everyone but Jake would ride. "Well. In you go! We've got a little drive first." Jake opened the front door, climbed in, and situated himself.

Trevor complied, hopping into the part of the truck they'd be riding in. He secretly hoped it wasn't going to be all too long. Riding is cars wasn't really something he liked. Tolerated? Of course, when he had to. Driving is much better than flying, though... Count yourself lucky, I guess...

Aqua started to get into the truck like the others. "I wonder if I could learn to drive?.....Then again, im not sure when I would ever need that skill. Most of us can teleport or fly." Aqua said outloud, though mostly directed at herself. She couldn't teleport or make portals, her power didn't really allow for that, though most of her friends had work arounds for that if their powers didnt match. Though Aqua could fly by use of water, but it wasn't really fast, and it would tire her out to use power constantly over a long period of time. She was trying to learn one of Raylu's methods of teleportation, since she could both use Ki and Aqua now, but at the time she didn't have that ability.

Maura got into the truck as well, a little disappointed they weren't, say, flying. Unlike a certain coworker. (She might cheat and use some air to keep her bum from getting all bruised up on the ride--she wasn't so confident in the shocks or the comfiness of the seats.) Nonetheless, she was content to travel 'normally.' It was nice feeling more integrated with the rest of the world, instead of being so isolated from it, so different.
Maura then turned towards Aqua, "I think you could learn how to drive, it would just take some practice… Maybe a lot of practice. It always helps to have another skill, even if you don't think you'll need it. You never know."

Once everyone was loaded into the truck, Jake pulled out of the garage and onto a dirt road. They were already in the middle of nowhere, so no one even saw that they had departed. Jake lowered the small glass pane window that separated the front of the truck from the back portion. "So how is it back there? I hope it's not too bumpy!"

"Ah, yes. Mr. Chauffeur, it's a bit chilly back here. Do put on the heat and we'd like our glasses of champagne, as well. On the double!" Trevor said in a mock 'fancy/rich' accent.

"I'm good!" Maura replied, sitting on her shock absorbing air cushion. Turning to Aqua she suggested, "well we could pull straws. If we had any. What, you don't want to play highway bingo with us?" She smirked teasingly towards her. "Or the alphabet game!"

"Hah. The reason that no one else can be up here is simply for that reason. It wouldn't be fair if you all wanted to be up here and only one person could be, so no one gets to." Jake then back-handed tossed a fireball into the back. "That hot enough?" He chuckled.

Maura jumped as the fireball was thrown back at them. "Woah, good thing my feet weren't there!" She created a 'bowl' of spiraling air underneath to catch it and have it hover off the floor of the truck bed.

"You just want the front to yourself." Aqua said, sticking her tongue out. Aqua put the fire out with some water after Jake just started chucking fireballs. "I assume those are car ride games. I've never played them since I almost never ride in a car."

"Huh. You want to play a game on your mission time? Man, let's not put that in the report to Kavisto, or he might get mad." Jake chuckled a tad. Yeah, like he'd tell Kavisto anything. "We should probably make a plan or something. We could be going into a dangerous environment, after all."

"Okay," Trevor started. "Should there be danger, should we split up under any circumstances?" That was number one. If there was trouble and they had to act fast, they'd have no time to deliberate then. They should decide now. Jake was right. They needed a plan.

"Well there's a first time for everything, Aqua," Maura replied. "Highway bingo is where you have a bingo sheet but instead of numbers there are pictures like a cow or a rest stop or a highway sign, and as you see them you cross them off! It's a lot of fun but we don't have cards. And the alphabet game is--" Just then she heard Jake suggesting they make a plan.
"--..Right, good idea." Maybe she got a little too excited for bingo. "I'd think we should avoid splitting up since there are only four of us to begin with, but if we have to then we should probably each have a partner. Two and two." She looked around at them. "I'd say whoever's worked with each other longer, but I've only just got here.. What about complimenting Powers? Or boy/girl boy/girl."
Let's see now. Maura was Wind and a girl, Aqua was Water and a girl. Trevor was Earth and a boy, Jake was Fire and a boy. Maybe Trevor and I, Wind and Earth, and Aqua and Jake, Fire and Water. Unless they'd prefer a girl team and boy team. Or opposite genders but not opposite Powers, like Jake and I--Wind and Fire, and Aqua and Trevor--Earth and Water. What would be more useful... There might be more attack combinations with Water/Earth and Wind/Fire. Hmm.. Jake is by far the oldest and most experienced here, Aqua is the youngest but has been training a long time, and she has that Mystic Realm Power now. Trevor is older than me and has been training for a long time too, and I've been trained extensively as well but not necessarily all in combat. Geez, I hope I'm not the weak link.. I am newest.. Okay okay never mind that it doesn't matter. Anyway, Jake is probably the most Powerful and Aqua and Trevor might be about even. Would it make more sense to put a newer recruit with a more experienced one and keep the two middle-ish people together?
Maura was chewing on her lip contemplating all this. She waited to speak her mind, however, to see what someone else might suggest. She especially wasn't looking to annoy anyone by being the new person who thought they had all the answers, but once she made up her mind she wasn't afraid of sharing her thoughts.

Aqua watched Maura's expressions change as she thought, assuming she was doing some hard thinking. "I doubt there would be action the moment we arrive, otherwise there would be a scene we would of heard about. How we should split up should depend on whats going on, which we can't really tell until we get there. But if we all need to split up, Im pretty sure I could handle myself."

"We probably shouldn't split up. I mean, if it happens, then I'd say we'd need to meet back up as soon as possible. Just keep in mind who you get paired up with." There was a method to Kavisto's madness, so to speak, when it came to only having teams of elemental Powers; they worked together the best. "Opposites don't usually work well together because their Powers would get in the way. But if you recall what elemental Powers all Light and Darkness Humans can use, then you'll remember easily who best to pair up with." Jake probably would have requested a dry erase board at this point, but he was driving the truck. "Light Humans have Fire and Earth. Darkness Humans have Water and Wind. That's not to say that other combinations don't work, it's just a fact that those work best together." Jake scratched his head. "Although, I can see Fire and Wind working interestingly together... and Water and Earth would be kind of messy." He laughed.

Trevor gave a small nod. "I was thinking the same thing. Fire and Earth, Water and Wind. Incidentally, that makes a girl team and a boy team," he paused. "Buuuut let's just hope we don't need to split up!" He then shrugged. "It's hard to formulate a plan before you know what's actually going on."
