The emotions that Skylos would be picking up from the Veluts would be fear but rage as well. Everyone feared the Irates, but the Veluts seemed very angry at the prospect of their village being attacked again, and they were fighting very brutally. The Irates, however, appeared to be a massive jumble of incoherent rumblings and a desire to consume. It would feel like a massive crowd talking at once. Skylos would be able to pick up the overall tone, but making out specifics would be impossible.
"That's why we're going," said Ponic, "they'll sense the orb being moved and follow us, we'll lead them away from the village and people will be safe." Ponic was saying it for Skylos' benefit, but he was also saying it so he wouldn't feel like he was abandoning his people again.
As they walked down the hill and into the village, there would be a few crumbling houses. Ponic, Keera, and Skylos were keeping to the alleyways and backways of the village to attract less attention, even if the orb was invisible. "They'll sense that it's near now, so let's not stay long," said Ponic. Down the road was a very loud crash, followed by a shout and then a primal scream, presumably an Irate attacking a Velut in a house or shop. The street ahead appeared clear for the most part but the shouts were emanating from all around them, and there was a smoke filling the sky. "Get ready, down the road to the end and hang a right, look for anywhere to hide. If anyone gets separated, we'll meet at the end of the street."
"They're near, they might spot us," said Keera.
"There's no other way around them, we'll just have to risk it...get ready...go," said Ponic.

"I'm the fastest, so I can distract them enough for you two, hopefully. Good luck." Skylos ran ahead a bit so that he would be the first target. He was also dressed in white, which (un)fortunately stuck out a bit. I'll keep them safe; I can handle myself for their sake. Skylos followed the directions, but he looked all around for the first hint of an Irate attack.

As Skylos ran through the area he'd see the pandemonium caused by the Irates. As he got through the street however, an Irate turned and saw Skylos. "Outsider," he shouted in a derranged voice. The Irate spread a wave of corrupted shadow out at Skylos. Unlike Ponic's shadow, this shadow looked sick, if such a thing was possible. It was not smooth and seemed to leak across the floor, rotting what it touched. It spread onto the floor and then Skylos' shadow rose like that, having been corrupted and tried to consume him.

Skylos shot a message to Keera and Ponic using radio waves. Irates on this street. Be careful. Engaging now. This was Skylos' first time seeing an Irate and an Irate's Shadow Wielding. Startled, he let out a burst of Light from his left hand to overpower the Darkness that was in his own Shadow. He then let out a stream of Blue Flames at the Irate, not letting it gain nay ground on him.

The Irate brought forth a large stream of shadow from around him that consumed the blue flames. "Outsider," he shouted even louder, attracting more attention. The Irate then sent a wave of shadow through the air at Skylos that shot towards him with tentacles, aiming to wrap him up and consume him.
Skylos would then also get a response from Ponic telepathically. Skylos, hurry, he'll try to attract attention...

Skylos grunted and fired off a single orb of Light. It suddenly detonated when it came into contact with the wave of Shadow, making a bright light that swallowed up the Shadow. It would momentarily blind the Irate if it didn't shield its vision. Indeed, and away from the village. Skylos then took off like a bullet, rounding the corner and aiming to meet the others.

The Irate shot fourth more shadow to shield its eyes from the light, grunting from the sudden attack. However, it made no difference because he had to concentrate on that and by then, Skylos had escaped. Skylos would sense Ponic and Keera's auras at the end of the road and to the ride on a small path that ran between the houses. Ponic had nullified the gravity on an Irate that they ran into, and when Skylos got there he would see Ponic had slammed him hard onto the floor, face first, knocking him out. Keera seemed to be controlling the invisible orb at the moment as well. "Took the scenic route, eh?" jibed Keera. Ponic signalled them forward.
Ahead of them was one of the areas where the riot was happening. Irates were breaking into buildings and destroying them with shadow, while also infecting Veluts. However, the Veluts weren't taking it lieing down and were fighting tooth and nail, killing some of the Irates as well. "It's a war zone out there," said Ponic. The buildings were burning, and smoke filled the air accompanied by shadow. Blasts of Irate and Velut shadow criss-crossed, some even landing on the ground not too far from Ponic, Keera, and Skylos but for the moment they appeared to be unnoticed. "I didn't expect this," said Ponic, "we can either try to find a way around but that will take too long. We'll have to go through this somehow." Ponic was loath to go around because he wanted out of the village as fast as possible. These were his people that were dieing, and he didn't want them to suffer for a moment longer.

"You could say that..." Skylos shrugged his shoulders. He then looked at the war zone that had erupted in front of him. He could feel many individuals and their flaring emotions. Being that it was so close, it started to give Skylos a headache. Going around sounded like a nice idea for Skylos' head, but it really was impractical considering that they needed to get out of the village as soon as possible. "We'll have to run through guns blazing, figuratively speaking of course. Even if I made us invisible, I don't think we could safely sneak past because we'd probably get caught up in some sort of cross-fire."

"All right," said Ponic, "I'll take the orb, Keera." Ponic levitated the gravity on it, making it a bit easier to move quickly, although it did take more concentration from him. "We'll move through quickly, don't stop for anything." Ponic pointed ahead, "do you see that pass on the far side? That road leads right out of the village, once we get far enough the Irates will send the orb themselves and will leave the village."
"I think we should stay together for this one," mentioned Keera, "strength in numbers, try not to kill anyone." Keera sighed, worried about the whole affair. Once they got out of here, they'd be in the plains, which were hardly any safer. She couldn't help but feel slightly responsible for this. If I had just been content with my ignorance then all of this wouldn't be happening, she thought mentally. Ponic put his hand on Keera's shoulder and nodded to her. "Everyone ready?" he said to Keera and Skylos.

Skylos could feel Keera's emotions change to something else. He only noticed it because it did not really seem to match the mood as a problem that should have been thought about. He smiled encouragingly to her, despite not knowing what she was thinking. "I'm ready." I'm pretty fast. Maybe I can draw some fire away from Keera and Ponic by getting ahead of them a little. Even in the midst of danger, Skylos was still thinking about protecting his friends and not worrying about his own self. "Let's go!" Skylos Light Dashed forward, heading towards the exit of the village. He had Light and Earth on standby, just in case.

Skylos got through and no one noticed, but Keera and Ponic got killed because he ditched them, good job!
The Irates, and even some of the Veluts noticed the sudden intruder. The Irates having hatred of outsiders, and the Veluts not knowing who that was, sent attacks at Skylos. Not the entire crowd, but a few that happened to be nearby. Irate shadow spread across the ground like a carpet at Skylos. Velut shadow shot out in beams towards him.
Ponic grabbed at the Velut shadow and deflected it away from Skylos. Keera tried to stem the Irate shadow, but it was quickly infecting her shadow. At this, many of the rioters noticed Keera, Ponic, and Skylos and began to move toward them.

Skylos shot out his Light Particle Blast and it began to obliterate Shadows being thrown at him. He could tank most of the hits for Ponic and Keera, but that didn't mean he couldn't also score a few hits... The carpet of Shadow beneath him began to destabilize, as it was burned away by the friction that was caused by Skylos' feet which was combined with Light. A few more Particle Blasts charged in Skylos hands, and he had them quickly fire at the Irates, carefully avoiding any Veluts. If not taken care of, they would literally burn through their matter and break them down into particles. It was a pretty nasty move.

The Irates slashed with their hands shooting out infected Irate shadow at the coming particle blasts, striking them and causing an explosion in the air as the two powers collided. Ponic, and Keera kept running as well, but ahead of all three of them, including Skylos, a group of Irates had amassed. They pulled shadow from around them creating it into a massive orb above them. "Skylos, watch out," shouted Ponic as Skylos was the furthest ahead. With a shout the Irates struck the massive orb of infected shadow onto the ground. The shadow would explode outward through the air like a massive blanket of darkness, but all consuming and infecting of matter, as well as spread across the ground in a similar fashion. Veluts who were struck by the shadow screamed out. One Velut in particular let out an agonized cry of pain as the dark infected shadow rose over her body, until her shouts were muffled out when it covered her mouth. The shadow then spread out from her body and what emerged from the cocoon, in a quick time was another Irate.

Alerted by Ponic (and by his own eyes), Skylos slid to a stop before getting too close to the massive ball of energy. Ooooh kay. Yeah. Think I'm going to have to turn it up a notch here. Gold Light appeared at his hand again, and he let out another Particle Blast. This Particle Blast was much larger than before and it was solely aimed at the large quantity of Shadow that was now attacking him. He had no doubt in his mind that it was enough to protect him and possibly a few others near him.
However, what he saw next was... Unforgivable. Something about the situation caused Skylos to snap! His Aura went wild and he turned to face the Irates responsible. He Light Dashed towards them, then let out a fury of Gamma Blasts upon them! If the initial blasts didn't kill them, then the radiation poisoning might...

Skylos' particle blast did indeed block the shadow from striking him. Ponic meanwhile had pulled Keera close to him, afraid that her powers wouldn't be strong enough to stop the Irate infection. However, Ponic with an unlocked core was able to resist it, and unleashed his own torrent of shadow around him to supplement Skylos' particle blast. Then, Ponic saw Skylos' sudden strike. He knew his friend was a powerful Light Human, his new position was a prime example of it, but he'd never seen Skylos let loose such a powerful strike, especially one so lethal.
Ponic watched as Skylos light dashed at the Irates responsible. The strike was powerful, and he moved at a speed that they didn't have time to react. One Irate was able to shield himself with shadow, but shouted a guttural cry as the radiation poisoning penetrated his shadow and killed him in an agonizing death. The other Irates all let out shouts as the blasts struck them, falling back onto the ground, large holes blown in their chests. Around them, the remaining Irates began to lend their shadows to the creeping infection across the ground.
Ponic looked at his fellow Veluts, unable to accept them dieing like this. He had to act quickly. "Skylos, Keera, we need to leave now. Clear a way for us, I'm going to concentrate on getting the last few Veluts away from here." Ponic planned to risk sending them away by shadow. Yes the Irates had infected the transportation, but there was always the chance they'd get through. Staying here, was guaranteed death. Ponic concentrated on the Veluts around him, his eyes glowed a strong white colour and he prepared to send them away by shadow. Ponic had never sent so many away by shadow before, this was not going to be a pleasant experience. In the mean time it was up to Skylos and Keera to get them out of here.
The good news was they had gotten a decent distance already, they were already near the base of the hill. Once they crested over it, they'd be out of the village.

Skylos barely heard Ponic's words to him as he seemed to be caught up in some sort of fury over what the Irate had done to the Veluts. Regardless of Ponic's orders, Skylos was already moving forward and already clearing a way...just a bit more aggressively than what Ponic had perhaps imagined of the Light Human. Gamma energy erupted from Skylos' left palm, blasting everywhere as Skylos raged. The shots were directed only at Irates, as Skylos had seemingly locked on to all of the ones that he could presently see. As he cleared through all he could see, he began to shake profusely.

Ponic forced himself to lock onto the remaining Veluts and send them through their shadows and away. He didn't pick a particular destination, there were so many that it hurt to do it, and he simply sent them away to anywhere else in the village, in hope that they would make it. Ponic felt his vision swim and a massive migraine wrack his head from the manoeuvre but it worked, nonetheless. Ponic shook off the disorientation and moved through the path of...carnage that Skylos had left.
Irates were dropping around him left and right from the massive gamma rays that he was erupted from his left palm. Keera ran with them over the hill, but she could see Skylos' rage. "Skylos, stop," she shouted, "Skylos!" The deaths were becoming too much for her.
As soon as they crossed the crest of the hill they would see the village wall, which they would pass through and be out into the plains. "Skylos, we're out," called Ponic, noticing that the Light Human seemed to have faded away somewhat...

"Yes...Yes. We're through. They're through." Skylos was still shaking. Nothing was coming from him now, including an Aura; he appeared to have hidden it when he was attacking. He slowly turned around and looked at where they had just been. "I-I did that. I saw them do that... They can't do that to someone..." His fists were balled up and white because he was clenching them so hard. Skylos had a blank look on his face. His yellow eyes were almost unseeing and just looking at nowhere in particular after he had surveyed his own damage. "They were already someone..."

"Skylos, we're through, let's keep moving," said Ponic putting his hand on Skylos' shoulder, sensing how distraught he was even though Ponic couldn't feel Aura's or emotions. "You did well, let's go." Unspoken were the words 'that was a side of you I've never seen before' Ponic decided he'd bring it up later. Keera said nothing she kept looking back at the village distraught and panting a little bit. She shook herself and then followed them out through the plains.
As they walked they would see what the plains were. Behind them were the mountains, the plains were a vast flat land with long grass that ran up a person's legs and at times up to the midpoint of their stomach. The moonlight overhead seemed to be especially punctuated and danced off of the grass, causing them to twinkle in the Shadow Realm's unending twilight, making a wonderful display of lights off the ground like Skylos, Keera, and Ponic were running through a field of long crystals. Ahead in the distance were a few hill sides, though not as large as the mountains.

Skylos ran with Ponic and Keera. As they passed through the plains, Skylos looked at the crystals in awe. "Are these everywhere? They're so...mysterious." What had caused them to grow here of all places? The Shadow Realm was definitely an alien world compared to Earth. The crystals seemed to be taking Skylos' mind off of what he had just done, but there was no going back. I did what I had to to protect the Veluts. I couldn't let the Irates destroy what made those people...them. That violation... Skylos severed his thoughts and returned to examining the crystals as they ran.

Once they walked through the plains enough they would crest over a hill into a grass filled valley where a small creek was running through, it could be heard but not seen. "I think we are far enough for a moment," said Ponic. He looked at Skylos, wonderingly, "what was that, Skylos? I've never seen such strikes from you before, although I knew you were capable of them." Keera said nothing, however, and seemed to cast a furtive glance back at the village.

Skylos stared into the depths of the sky, looking up at the moonlight. "I need to explain myself..." Skylos noted, somewhat as though he weren't all there. He appeared to be dazed. "I can take death. It's a normal part of life, something that is expected. Killing another...I have come to accept that fact. There is no magical cure-all that will cause everyone to lay down their arms and accept everyone." Skylos was sharing some things about his mental processes, something he didn't typically do. "But there are...things...that I cannot handle. It's difficult to be human when you see something so horrible that it goes beyond comprehension." He trailed off here.

Ponic understood and nodded to Skylos, walking over to him, "I understand. What you saw...it was monstrous, and I'm sorry you had to witness it, no one should. We'll stop this, I swear it." Keera finally spoke up, however, "but they used to be someone else, most of the modern day Irates were other Shadow Wielders that were infected," she said quietly to no one in particular. Seeing the death around her, she was a little bit distraught from it.

Skylos' head snapped to Keera's direction. "The exact thing... They were someone, and now they are not that person." He said this in cold fury, his yellow and gold eyes unblinking. "And..." He added quietly, "there is no guarantee that they will ever have that life back." He swallowed, then quickly looked away. Keera had inadvertently hit the nail on the head.

"but they're still dead," she said, not meeting Skylos' eyes, just looking out to the village again, when she finally turned, Skylos would see the pain her her eyes. Ponic decided this may have been best left finished, "let's keep going," said Ponic, gesturing them forward. "Stay close, and be careful for any dangers, the entire purpose is to get far enough to lure the Irates away from the village." As they walked Ponic decided to keep the silence from starting, "so Skylos, I've only ever seen you use your left hand for your powers. Tell me of your power through the right."

"My right hand..." Skylos frowned, but then smiled, suddenly. "I use that for Fire. And I use my right foot for Earth." Ponic did not know, but Skylos also had a rather devastating Power in his right hand, but he wasn't going to volunteer that information. He had only recently used it, and it had been against Xernus. He didn't know what the group thought of him...Using that Power. That terrible Power. "Fire is pretty different from Light, although they are definitely related. They're both a very warm Power." He smiled a bit more. He was trying to smile genuinely, anyways...

"I see, yes they are very potent and warm powers, means you can be our resident cook if Eric moves out," said Ponic, but he gave him the look that said 'I've known you for years, I can tell when you're hiding something...' however he seemed willing to let it go for now. Ponic was about to say something else when another sound broke through their footsteps. It was the sound of cracking and creaking from beneath their feet. If Skylos, Ponic, and Keera looked down they'd see that their feet were suddenly sinking, quite rapdily into the ground, in fact in the few seconds it would take them to notice they'd already be up to their knees. "Damn," muttered Ponic, "we walked right into this, the grass covered it. No one move or make a loud noise," said Ponic with a whisper. It was odd that he would say that...surely it was just quick sand...

Skylos didn't confirm Ponic's look, but he also didn't deny it. Instead, he found himself stuck in something. Since Ponic had said not to make noise, he decided to switch to mental talk. He opened a Radio Frequency among the three. What is this? Quicksand? Does something live in it? Honestly, after Agrios had mentioned something about fighting great monsters in the Shadow Realm, that really was the first thing that came to mind. Were they about to be eaten by a giant Shadow Antlion?

Ponic nodded looking below as they continued to sink, now as their thighs, but since they stopped moving the sinking was slowing. It's not like Earth quicksand, this will swallow you whole, said Ponic, and yes there are sand serpents that live in this. They are very keen at hearing, they'll notice us and attack us for prey. They aren't big but they hunt in packs. We need to figure out a way out, I eliminate gravity on us and pull us out...
Keera then put in, As soon as they hear us make a sound whether we move in here or levitate out, they'll know they have potential prey and attack. She mentioned, of course staying here and eventually drowning was not an option either...

Ok...Then we can tag team this. I can increase Gravity in the sections below us so that they'll stay stuck beneath us...assuming of course there are any there to try and attack us. Skylos wanted to groan at their luck, but he couldn't make a sound... Just say when.
