We all have demons, and we all have blood on our hands. Think, there must be a way.
You've been the best servant I've ever had...And a wonderful friend...
Tran... I'm proud of you, and I always have been. Please know this... and forgive me.
I already had...
How could I be the one fading away...
I love you so much...
Surely there must be something...
My army is not only humans...There are millions of demons... How will we maintain order? How can we fight for everyone if we can't protect ourselves?
Cores can regenerate body...but shattered Core mean nothing. Tribe dead. No hope of return.
This can't be happening...Tom...what would you do...Tom...What would I do?
Why can't I do anything?! Why is there nothing I can do?!
Skylos arms went limp. "W-why..." He muttered. He looked down at the mace he had dropped before. He bent down and picked it up.
Omni looked concerned for Skylos. Was he going to crack? How was he taking this?
Skylos held the mace up high then struck the altar with all of his might. "What good is a weapon if it only protects me?" He shouted to the air. "A mace keeps me safe, but it won't keep anyone else safe. All's it does is hurt people that aren't me." He put his forehead down to the altar and sobbed into it. After a bit, he looked up and stared at Omni. "You knew this all along... You knew they'd die and you didn't tell me. You did end up using me, just like Neon always said you would." his face was red, and hot with anger. "You did all this just for your own selfish reasons. You just wanted your wife and child back. Why couldn't you just be happy with Tranductus? He was your son...you still had him. Why did you have to sentence every last demon to their deaths?" He pulled out the Tome of Power and threw it to the ground. "Why did you write that if you knew what you were going to do?! Is that supposed to be...some sort of memoir of your times with demons before you killed them all? WHY?" He just stared at him, tears still running down his face.
Omni looked sick. He looked at Skylos with a mixture of anger...and then... defeat. "I didn't want to involve anyone." Omni then said, flatly. "I wanted to kill him and never tell anyone what happened except for the select few that were helping me." His eyes looked down to the ground. "I was going to blame that Krystallos for their death...Because it is his fault when you really think about it...and Solus. But they're both dead now."
Skylos was speechless. "You were going to lie... You were just going to cover it up..."
"I never wanted to hurt anyone." Omni rasped. "But that's all I've ever done in my long life. I'm the worst person that has ever lived, Skylos. But I didn't want anyone to know so that they were protected from the knowledge."
But Skylos then realized the benevolence of what Omni was suggesting. "N-n-no. You're not the worst." His mind changed...his temper lessened. "You were trying to...protect everyone, like you always are." Skylos looked at his mace. He was protecting people with the mace. The mace protected him and the people he was standing in front of.
You know, when I found it, it was just an old beat-up rod. But I think it heard me because when I wished that it was something that could protect you, it turned into that mace. It's...a Relic, I guess.
Skylos then said, "I just wish it could heal the broken-hearted."
The mace began to glow with Golden Light. The pole lengthened so that it stretched to the ground in front of Skylos. The spikes protruding from the top shrank into the round top and then smoothed over. The overall material turned from gray stone to a white marble. The rounded part on the top half of the sphere turned into a giant gemstone. It was an opal. Suddenly Skylos felt a Power in him that felt...warm.
Omni looked at the now staff and then raised his eyebrows. "That's not a mace... anymore." He was somewhat dumbfounded by this.
Skylos took a deep breath. "I...I think I did." He gripped the staff and looked at it in wonder. Idly, he realized that this had distracted him from the problem at hand. "I wished to heal the broken-hearted." A Core is like a heart...it keeps people alive and filled with Power...Maybe this will... He gripped the staff with both hands and held it out and towards Solus's body. "Wish me luck." He said to Zalendor and Omni, and really to everyone.
With the staff pointed forward, Skylos unleashed Light energy through the staff. The opal lit up and radiated Light around Solus's body. A spherical shape began to form above Solus's body as particles began to storm towards it. Shards of the twenty-five cores began to reform, but they all seemed to be forming into one Core this time. "When I think about it, life would be incomplete without a little Chaos in it, don't you think? I mean, it would be incomplete with out Law too...One shouldn't have power over the other...they should be balanced so that there's a best of both worlds." The Core was wobbling again like before. Skylos began to panic. He pressed at the Core with all of his might and his Light blasted into it to stabilize it. The shape was going out of control like before, but it was also staring to fill with the substance of all of the Powers that had shattered before. The memories, the attributes, the hardships, everything that Solus had ever known.
Skylos's hands turned white as he pressed hard into the staff with his fingers. Skylos then saw what he had missed before. "Chaos can't be turned into a Core because it has no Law...So..." So I need to add Law to Chaos. Hopefully the others wouldn't mind...but... Skylos began to borrow some energy from Lygizo, Maddox, Ponic, and The Shadow Rider...namely, their Law which they held deeply as parts of who they were.
A bit of energy from the four streamed into the incomplete, wobbling Core that was shimmering in the air without full substance. The Chaos suddenly started to subside... The wobbling stopped and the Core turned into a perfect sphere. Suddenly, the Core ignited and Sol blasted out of it and covered the Series Nexus with revitalizing energy.
Tranductus's eyes suddenly snapped open. This energy...It's Sol...
The Core shone like a star in the middle of the Nexus as it floated above Solus's body.
You've been the best servant I've ever had...And a wonderful friend...
