Allow me to speak to you about monsters in general for a moment. Get some basic facts out of the way. Much of the info on monsters we have comes from Eric Nightngale, and Lareo the Phantom Demon.
Monsters all live in their own world, and are not native to our world or the Demon Realms. They live in the Monster Realm, also known as the monster world. It is from here where they come to our world. Some come of their free will, others often get dragged into ours one way or another. Which can explain sudden appearances of monsters in our world. And on some races of monsters, being in other worlds can have negative effects in them. For example, some monsters in the Monster Realm can speak human speech, but in our world they lose that ability. That doesn't apply for all monsters, and that is not the only effect. Some monsters are not affected at all.
Monsters, while they live in their own world, they didnt always live there. They used to live in earth and the demon realms, but when monsters were hunted and seen as.....well monsters, the ruler of all monsters created the monster world as a safe home for the many races of monsters. Because of the strain of making an entire realm, the realm has weakpoints. Rips in the dimenation can happen, and monsters can be lost through them, appearing on earth, or the demon realms. For monsters that are lost this way, if they cannot make portals, there is only one way to return on there own. Death. When a monster is killed or its body is destroyed, its spirit returns to the Monster Realm with no portal needed. This is the white light that appears when a monster is killed, then floats into the air and vanishes. Monsters killed when they have traveled on there own to the human and demon worlds do stay dead, but why monsters that happen to fall into the other realms through the rifts die are brought back to the monster world is unknown. Maybe because they have a connection to the monster world still, and dieng in another realm doesnt sever it. Also if the body is destroyed in a way like Void, or being ripped to nothing by Dimension, the spirit will most likely be destroyed with the body, no matter where the monster is killed, or why its where its at.
Monsters, when they are hit by an attack that could of killed them, but they survived the attack, and walked out of the battle alive, often have a scar or wound from the attack that nearly killed them. This scar is called an Eternal Wound. The scar or wound glows a color, usely white. Nearly any monster can have one. It gives them a big power boost to make up for the fact that the scar is also a weak point. Attacks that hit this wound cause much more damage then any attack hitting any other part of the body. Monsters often change their battle style, if their current battle style cant protect their wound. This can make a monster an even bigger threat, or even easier to defeat.
Most monsters are also intelligent in the way humans and demons are; they are not mindless beings as some appear when in our world. Monsters apparently are not just killers and chaos causers. They apparently live with each other, like humans do. Though some usually only relate with those of their race and some are natural enemies, much like some animals are. But many details of their lifestyles in their own world is unknown.
One more thing is how other beings can enter the monster world. Apparently anyone who can make portals can go, though teleportations do not work, as it must be portal travel for some unknown reason. Most of the time portals to the monster world must be done in certain areas. But bringing monsters to our world from theirs requires more power then just portal making. Just how much is also unknown.
