Omni and Skylos seemed to have grabbed it at once. "Now Skylos, this really isn't a play-thing. Please let go. If you want something to play with, I have plenty of things in my workshop."
Skylos blinked. "Now Omni, you know very well that I'm eighteen. I'm an adult now, so stop treating me like a child. I'm not even your child."
"A couple of greats grandchild." Omni noted. "I think I can call you child no matter your age." The Gem then flew out from under both of their grips and then hung in the air again. Omni raised his eyebrow. "Now brother..." Omni said very quietly, almost as though he were talking to it...

Naga blinked. "... brother?" For a moment, he was uncomprehending. Then the penny dropped, and his eyes widened. "You...!" he gaped at Omni. "You're don't have two dimension stones. You are two dimension stones!"
"Got there in the end," Yamiken murmured, more to himself than anyone else, smirking. Still, behind the amusement, he was bracing himself. It seemed his prediction of a few moments ago was coming true...

Omni looked at Naga and smiled. "Don't say I didn't tell you so." He was somewhat amused, but he was more worried about what the stone was up to. It wasn't activated, yet it was reacting.
Skylos heard this and...froze. "Wait. What?" He looked quite confused.
Meanwhile, a soft blue sphere appeared around the dimension stone, and then started to extend outward.

Naga's jaw worked, but this time he didn't have a counter. There seemed to him something deeply... unnatural about a being like Omni existing. But... he couldn't just say that to the man's face. He wasn't that rude after all.
Yamiken was focusing on the stone, anyway. "Here we go," he murmured as the glow appeared. He made no attempt to avoid it.

Not that they could avoid it. The blue light covered the entire nexus after a moment, and the four were then transfered to somewhere else. Actually, now they were in the Series Nexus. Top of the world, so to say.
Skylos was still bewildered. "Will someone please explain to me...What...Ah forget it..." There was just too much going on right now! The jewel shimmered above them, yet it still looked dull. However, the faint figure of Zephyr was now on top of the altar.

Yamiken caught sight of Zephyr at once. "Ah," he noted. "I believe our guide's here." He began walking up to the altar.
Naga looked up when Yamiken said that, and saw the 'guide'... not that he recognised the man. He then looked at Omni and frowned. "I don't like this," he spoke, voicing his concern.

"Oh hey Zephyr." Skylos noted to him.
Zephyr twirled his blue lance around once, then sat down on the altar. "Hello... I see you found me. Very good. Now I'd like it if you laid me to rest..."
Omni scratched his chin. "Zephyr Cadge. You aren't supposed to exist. In fact, you're only a half of a person. But that person became one piece..."
Zephyr nodded. "And so I'm the forgotten Dimension Guardian."

"Your peers are all dead," Yamiken observed to Zephyr. "You're the last of your kind. I suppose it is... natural to want to follow them into the abyss." He cocked his head. "But you have a story to tell first, surely? What happened to you... was never known." He glanced at Omni. "At least, not to most people..."
Naga just looked rather confused. He had no idea what was going on here. "If you don't mind," he coughed as politely as he could. "Can someone please explain to me what this is about?"

Zephyr figured he'd just explain everything. "A very long time ago, before the Dimension Stones were lost, they were given Guardians who would keep a look after them and also use them in accordance to protecting them. I was one of the guardians at one point, but I was split from another person so that two stones would have guardians. But the other person was more or less dominate over me when we re-fused...So I was lost." he frowned. "So naturally, after the Dimension Gaurdian idea fizzled out over time, my stone was lost, but I had imprinted on it enough to have a sort of form with it. So here I am. Alive, but not really. Hiroki, Hiroshi, Hakata. My family is all gone... Well. Heh. I'm half of Hiroki, actually." He shrugged. "I want new Guardians. That's all I want." His gaze went to Omni, then to Skylos, then to Naga, and then rested on Yamiken for a moment.

Yamiken was quite used to such looks by now. He just shook his head, smirking ever so slightly to himself.
Naga meanwhile gave an 'ah' or understanding. "Guardians... interesting..." he mused. He shot Omni a look. "And a very wise idea, I might add. You never know what sort of trouble the stones might get into without being looked after properly." Perhaps certain other persons should have been made as inanimate objects and given guardians... oh well. Too late to change that now.

"I am a Guardian of myself, thank you." Omni said, looking at Naga. "Unless you think I should be around someone's neck." He gave a soft laugh. He said that because Zephyr's form had the blue Dimension Stone set in a silver amulet around his neck.
Skylos frowned. "How are you alive, Omni?" He inquired.
Omni just smiled. "Another time, kid." He pat him on the head.
Zephyr chuckled. "It's odd. I never saw the Dimension Stones that you are. But I knew you existed..."
Omni nodded. "I couldn't be with the Stones during that Age. I would have been known during that time. Sheesh. Power was being formed around that time. Everyone was working on that."

"Cryptic words," Yamiken spoke up with a wry voice. "Do us lesser mortals get the privilege of being explained their meaning?"
Naga just gave a 'hmph' and folded his arms. As far as he was concerned, Omni didn't have the right attitude to be a guardian. It was very familiar... and that kid wondered why his father didn't see him more often... well. Other than the dragons and the general need for secrecy...

Omni shrugged. "Your Power didn't just pop out of thin air. It was made by people. It's a talent that has been lost ever since..." He mused. "...A long time ago. Yamiken, I'll tell you about it in some more detail later. I think we have other matters at hand, now don't we?" he winked.
Skylos's head hurt. How had he gotten mixed up in this again?
Zephyr nodded. "Yes. You want this stone, I take it? Well. It's been deactivate it...So you'll have to reactivate it if you want it to be of any use to whomever takes it. I guess I'll let the testing begin."

Well, that had certainly piqued Yamiken's interest. But there was a time and a place. He turned to Zephyr for now. "Testing?" he inquired.
Naga frowned. He didn't like the sound of this... it had a bad feel to it. Ominous, even. Like a horrible premonition... maybe he was just being paranoid. But that didn't endear him to what was apparently about to happen here any more...
At this point, someone appeared sitting upon the centre of the altar, behind Zephyr. Well, it was immaterial, really; he was completely invisible to everyone present, and gave off no indications of his presence. But if someone had been able to see them, they'd have noted his scruffy clothes which looked as though they'd been patched together from several teenager's school uniforms, blond hair held back rather peculiarly by a plain, white hair clip and brilliant blue eyes which watched the scene unfolding before him with interest. As he observed, he twiddled something about unconsciously in his fingers: a shiny sliver coin of some sort. All in all, he was rather bizarre. Good thing no one could see him.

Omni nodded, seeming to understand.
Skylos just looked at Omni with unease. "What kind of testing does he mean?" And why was he being included in this testing?
"To see who can activate the amulet." Zephyr replied. And then the four would immediately black out. They would be thrown into the deepest reaches of their mind, and then taken out of time.

That will be me, Yamiken thought as he was thrown out of time. I will make sure of it.
Should we be doing this? Naga worried as he was sent.
The man on the altar grinned to himself unseen. Now the games begin...

Skylos seemed to have been knocked out.
Omni watched as time seemed to shift backwards. Zephyr was right beside him as they seemed to go down a tunnel of sorts. Course, then it looked like the pathway that the others had stumbled upon before.

Yamiken noted the similarity with interest, having observed such a tunnel when Zephyr had returned Leo Hawkings to his own time and place. Naga had no such recollections, however, and just looked pensive as they proceeded. He was also a little concerned about Skylos...
They came out inside what looked like a temple. In fact, it was a very familiar temple...
"Ah." Yamiken said as he instantly recognised his surroundings. He looked over at Zephyr. "Might I hazard a guess that we're reliving turning points in each of our existences?" 'Life' was probably a poor term to choose in this case... since here his life wasn't going to last much longer, if he was right about when they were as well as where.

Zephyr nodded. "Something like that. Though you may find some...interesting things along the line..." He gave a mysterious smile and seemed to fade away.
Omni was by Skylos, meanwhile. He appeared to be shimmering with Void. Skylos then jumped up, wide awake. Omni chuckled.
Skylos blinked, then groaned. "Not here..."

"You're right to be apprehensive, I'm afraid," Yamiken remarked wryly. "Seeing as..."
Then footsteps were heard running past a nearby door, accompanied panicked shouts. Said door was suddenly flung open, and a breathless attendant bowed in. "My lord," he panted. "Akechi-dono has rebelled. He has surrounded the temple, and there is fire spreading this way! Please find some way to escape! We your retainers will..." At this point, he finally looked up at and saw Omni, Skylos and Naga. "... ah... my lord?"
"What are you staring at?" Yamiken snapped sternly, making the man jump. "Mitsuhide has rebelled, you say? Well then go and organised the defence! I shall join you shortly."
The attendant snapped to attention. "My lord!" he shouted in acknowledgement, then scurried off to obey his orders.
With the man gone, Yamiken relaxed out of his commander's pose. "Well," he spoke to the others ruefully. "I think you may well have gathered where we are now. We're about to witness my original demise at Mitsuhide's hands."
Naga blinked. "That's... troublesome," he stated awkwardly.

Skylos's eyebrows shot up. "Indeed. It can be even more troublesome." Skylos pointed out. He gave Yamiken a long look. Would he try to change history? No...he wouldn't... Would he? No... Skylos wasn't sure.
Omni tapped his chin. "We're out of place. And I fancy not to meet myself. That could cause some problems." Omni chuckled. An illusion when over him that changed him to blend in with everyone else.

Yamiken nodded to Omni as the illusion appeared. "Good idea," he noted, then gestured to Skylos and Naga. "I don't suppose you could do something for them as well?" He then stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Now... I have an interesting opportunity here, wouldn't you say?"
Naga frowned. "That's one way of putting it..."

Skylos shook his head. "I hope you aren't thinking what I think you are..." Skylos sounded guarded. If he had to, he would fight Yamiken. Though on his own, he was sure to fail, and he knew it. But Omni and Naga were there too...So maybe it wasn't hopeless after all.
Omni then noted. "Watching your own death would be rather interesting." He scratched his chin. "But be careful. Wouldn't want to pollute the timeline." He then waved his hand and Naga and Skylos were then hidden as well. "Noiw what are you orders, sir?" Omni said to humor Yamiken.

"My orders?" Yamiken asked with a smirk, but then seemed to seriously consider it. "Well, I think it's fairly obvious who I should seek out now," he concluded after some moments of consideration. "The person who killed me."
And even after two warnings he reverted to type... "Now Yamiken," Naga sighed. "You can't change your past. It's dangerous."

"Not to mention irresponsible." Skylos added. "Have you weighed the effects this going have on the present...why, yourself? What if I'm...like...never born?" Skylos crossed his arms.
Omni gave Yamiken a look. "I'm not going to help you kill anyone." Course, anyone who knew Omni knew that.

"Ah, but you good gentlemen misunderstand me," Yamiken told them mildly. "You have failed to make a few important distinctions. Firstly, I never said anything about killing anyone, or indeed even preventing my own killing. But even if I were to kill the person whom I just spoke of, it wouldn't change anything in the long run. Because while this person may have killed me, they weren't responsible for my death." He gave a tight smile. "The person who is is of course Mitushide-san. But I'm not proposing to see him. So long as I don't, I can confidently say that I will not survive this night. The person who killed me, however... the history books record me as having committed suicide having been captured by Mitsuhide-san, but that's a fabrication. Though that may well have been the case had fate, or rather a certain other someone, intervened, the person who actually killed me... was none other than my darling wife. And it is her I propose to visit now."
Naga scratched his head. All very well, he thought. But why?

Skylos was stunned. "But I've spoken to Mitsuhide-san..." Skylos was slightly confused by this. Had Mitsuhide been in on it, then? Or did something else happen...?
Omni raised an eyebrow. "I'd say 'I see', but I don't."

"Mitsuhide-san was the one who put out the story that he himself had me killed," Yamiken shrugged. "Or killed me personally; it varies, always a sign of a fabrication. I think he harboured some affection for her - whether amorous or simply platonic I don't know - and decided to shield her from dishonour. Or maybe affection never came into it, and he simply considered it a matter of his own honour to do such a thing for a lady. I don't know; I haven't spoken to him about it since returning." He raised an eyebrow. "But as someone who was, to put it lightly, there, I can tell you that's how it actually happened." He then glanced at Omni. "And don't worry. You will see. Anyway. Let's go. We may as well stick together." He led the way out of the room.

Skylos nodded. "I see now... Interesting... But wh ywould he still lie about it since you're alive now?" Skylos really said that as a rhetorical question.
Omni nodded. "You're the boss." He smirked to him.

Yamiken just shrugged again. "I suggest you ask him next time you see him," he answered drily. "I notice whenever I come to Terra 002 that he always seems to be nearby. Almost as if he's waiting for someone." Now whoever could that be~?
Naga followed in silence.
