Two lights on the other side of the arena glowed together in a black and white light. This light was coming from Omni. "Ah... I do believe Zephyr might be gone." He noted to no one in particular.
The swirling mass of what was Zephyr seemed to calm down as it neared the ground. After a few moments, the mass seemed to shape into something, shrinking into the shape of an amulet. The silver seemed to sparkle, but the blue gem in the center was still dull as it had been before. The area would turn blue and they would find themselves back in the Series Nexus. The amulet was on the altar, unmoving.

Naga, freed of the effects of Yamiken's attack at last, pushed himself up off the ground with a groan. "What...?" he began to ask, then managed to raise his head and take in the scene. Instantly surmising that Yamiken must have won, he let off a bit of a foul - though very archaic - curse. "You..." he growled at the samurai, staggering to his feet but glowering all the same. "This isn't over, Oda. You must be mad to think I'd let you walk away from this with an active dimension stone!"
"Active? I wouldn't be so sure just yet," Yamiken spat wearily back at him, before turning his attention back to the amulet. What has happened now...?

Well. Nothing seemed to be happening now. The only thing the amulet was doing was catching the light of the distant 3,508 stars. It was...quiet.
Omni scratched his chin. "Hm. It's not active. But I do think it's yours." Omni pointed out, slightly unhappy with the outcome.
Skylos was just glad to be somewhere a little...warmer.

Yamiken did note wryly in his own mind that Omni hadn't seemed to be complaining about the prospect of Yamiken getting the stone earlier when he'd had the opportunity to contest it with him... but he didn't get time to dwell on that, for at that moment, unfortunately for Skylos, the wind began to pick up in a rather big while as Naga continued to stare Yamiken down. "You're not getting away from here with that," the dragonslayer told him solemnly. "Active or otherwise."
Internally, Yamiken grimaced. His attack from before seemed to have taken its toll on Naga... but then, so had defeating Zephyr on him. If he tried to fight now, it was unlikely he'd win. So he had but one option: to talk his way out. "So what are you doing to do?" he asked his opponent softly. "Kill me and take it yourself? Isn't that going a bit against your whole tract at the very start of this whole affair?"
"I'd rather I had it and were able to dispose of it safely at some time soon than leaving it with you," Naga retorted. Still... Yamiken's words did seem to have unsettled him somewhat. And he didn't attack just yet.

"You are not going to be disposing of any Dimension Stone. While it may not be in our liking, he has earned that stone." Omni then turned to Yamiken. "Of course, you are binding yourself to an agreement by taking it. I'm sure the amulet will explain that to you." He turned back to Naga. "And I'd as soon take it before you do, as at least I'd know where it is with Yamiken."

Yamiken inclined his head towards Omni. "Naturally," he murmured his assent.
Naga's stare rounded on Omni, boring into him. "So you'll let that stone... your own brother... be left in the hands of that villain?" he asked him, his voice quiet now but nonetheless filled with contempt. His breathed in and out for some moments, before straightening and giving them both one final glare. "So be it then. But damn you both, damn your eyes, as you are damning this whole universe in this despicable act." With that, he spun angrily on heel and walked off, vanishing off somewhere a few seconds later. Where, only he was to know.

Omni shrugged. "I'm two of them, and I have two more. I think that is more than enough to leave someone in check." He turned around to smile warmly at Yamiken. A chuckle followed. He then went somewhat serious. "But your goal isn't to destory. What point would that be? You're not Morodin. You must definitely have more sense than he, and it doesn't see, that Naga there has given you enough credit. Anyways, I believe that jewel over there is yours." He then grinned. "Unless you are leaving it there for me to have."

Yamiken returned Omni's gaze seriously for a moment, then gave a dry chuckle and walked over to the altar. "To the victory, the spoils," he answered the negative, picking it up and placing it carefully around his neck. "But no, I am not Morodin." Or Osric. "I won't destroy." He flashed a winning smile. "Why, all that has to be done to avoid any bloodshed at all is for the universe to submit to me. Then I'll have no need to kill anyone... save the likes of Morodin." Well. And all my other counterparts... if I want to ever truly get to Prime... He didn't voice that one out loud, though. Of course, Omni might infer it anyway. He was far from naïve.

"Ha ha. As--"
All turned blue around Yamiken, as though he were in a sea of only royal blue. The only thing he could see was himself, and a crystalline shape in front of him. The shape was roughly humonid, but it seemed more demonic in some ways. Being that it was crystal, it was impossible to really tell what it was. It then spoke in a quiet, yet firm voice. "You must be wondering why I have not activated for you. It is not your fault, exactly." The voice paused for a few moments. "You first need to be One."

Yamiken started at all this. "One...?" he started to question, then stopped. It was obvious, really. He laughed at the irony; the thought had, of course, been flashing through his mind just moments before. "Ah yes. I think I understand. Hm. Most troublesome, you'll permit me to say. But I suppose it must be done."

"It is not neccesary, but it truly shows your worth." He then moved on. "By taking this amulet you are commiting yourself to the protection of this Power and to this part of the foundation." In front of Yamiken, Zephyr's lance seemed to float with the spear pointing towards the ground. "Take hold of your instrument and swear to use its Power for the benefit of all people, to uphold the Power you hold in balance of all of the others, and to protect Reality as if it were your own." The oaths seemed to be quite flexible, and up to the oathtaker to reason out what it meant to abide by them... Not that it seemed too hard. "You may find that other oaths will be taken for more power to be bestowed on you."

Yamiken moved a bit closer to the lance, but before taking it, he idly asked, "What happens if I break them?" Not that he had any intention of doing so... it was just curiosity. That, and a desire, as always, to be prepared for any eventuality. He'd learned over the course of his two lives that no risk was not worth taking in some set of circumstances.

"I do not think you will be able to." The voice replied. This seemed to indicate that Yamiken would be unable to break such oaths...but... "It is up to you to judge what they mean, however." There was a hint of... amusement -- Just a touch.

Yamiken frowned for a moment, but then shrugged, reasoning it a worthwhile trade-off. "Very well. I accept." He took a-hold of the lance. Well, naturally it would be best of the universe if I were in charge... and what interest do I have in disrupting the status quo of powers or, worse still, destroying reality itself?

"Very good." The lance would glow blue as he touched it, and voiced his accepting of the oaths. "Then we are bound. Dimension Guardian, Yamiken." The blueness went away.
"--if that would ever happen." Omni seemed to finish as though uninterrupted (then again, maybe he hadn't been). "Oh well. Sometimes... you can't prevent every fight. The same applies here - and for all time - no matter what weapon we use." Omni noted, finishing.

Yamiken gave no sign of his short interlude, and gave Omni's comment a small nod and a smirk. "Indeed. I've never been under any impression of being able to avoid conflicts." He stroked his chin thoughtfully, then amended, "Well, actually, I suppose if you go back far enough... heh-heh. But I was a different man back then. A different boy, even."

"Very true." Omni shrugged. "Well. That has most certainly been an interesting outing."
"What? that's all you have to say? We got dashed around timelines, practically tantilized to change them around, found a Dimension Stone, and call it 'interesting'?" Skylos crossed his arms.

"All in a day's work," Yamiken put out innocently, though in a way he shared Skylos' sentiment. It had certainly been an experience to remember. He then pulled a face. "Though it is... galling to know there's a threat out there which surpasses even the likes of Morodin and Krystallos... well. Hopefully we'll never have to deal with such a foe."

"You two are unbelievable..." Skylos rolled his eyes, but smiled.
Omni chuckled. "So long as you keep on living forever, you'll run into everyone and everything eventually." Just as I hope that no one is unfortunate enough to run into the Crystal Demon...Or Morodin, even. But I know that they will, in turn, be made more known as enemies to all.

"You can't blame me for hoping we never encounter something which wants to destroy all of Reality," Yamiken told Omni wryly, before admitting with a slight sigh, "Still, I suppose by sheer laws of chance you're right... oh dear. What a bother. Well, I can only hope, then, that it's sooner rather than later - later being the time when my power will, if all continues to go according to plan, be greater."

"Fancy that. We'll all have to rely on your power, Yami." Skylos winked. "I mean, if you're going to be all strong and all, it would be rather a shame if you didn't actually lend a hand, after all." He rubbed the back of his head.
Omni simply shrugged. "Dimension Guardian-san here is going to be rather busy now, though." He winked.

"Yes, yes, I'll help make sure you two don't let all of existence get disembowelled and dismembered," Yamiken told them both wryly. "And I'm already quite busy, Omni. You should know that by now." He gave on last smirk, then straightened a bit. "Well, I think this is where we bid farewell, no?" He gave Skylos a wink. "My thanks for the gift, Skiirosu-kun."

"Any time, Yami-dono. But next time I find something like that, I'm keeping it." Skiirosu winked.
"Just not for long." Omni patted Skylos on the back of his head. "Good bye, good bye." And with that, they both vanished, directly to home.

Yamiken left too, smirking to himself as he went.
At which point, Thascalos appeared leaning against the altar, flipping a silver coin up and down from his left hand. Luckily - very luckily indeed - he knew there was definitely no one around to observe him. He gave a lackadaisical grin at no one in particular. "Careful, Yami-san," he murmured. "I won't be around to help you out all the time." Catching the coin as it next came down, he turned it onto the back of his right hand. "Hm, heads. Prime it is~" And with that he vanished, his unseen, unheard episode a fast-fading memory in Reality's consciousness.
