Skylos looked around. Again, no one was in sight. "Agreed." He strode over to the history section. "I doubt we'll find newspapers if the place is deserted...It's after Three anyways." He wondered if he could find anything useful.
Someone else was lurking in the library and seemed to be monitoring the two...

"Hmph," grunted Masamune glancing about. "I've got a bad feeling about this place... that's the downside with libraries - too many places for things to hide."

The lurker froze with Masamune's last phrase. Had he been spotted? He decided to take another route through the bookcases.
"Yes... Even the books elude me. Maybe we don't really need the history lessons. Maybe a news channel would be better? Let's find a computer." he decided.

"Good plan," agreed Masamune, still glancing about suspisciously. Some sense at the back of his mind was tingling... although maybe it was just the general lack of people in this place. That, of course, was worrying enough by itself.

Skylos gawked as he entered what he thought was a computer room. Well...That's what the label had said on the door. They still looked remarkably the same in this period. he had to laugh though. IE was up to version 15 by now. "Old Bill would have loved to have seen this. " he commented to himself. He frowned, seeing no keyboard or mouse. "I wonder how it works?" he turned to Masamune and grinned. "I'm not quite with the times." He finally joked, now that he felt a bit safer knowing where...no...when they are.
The lurker kept his distance and hid near the entrance that Skylos had just taken...

Masamune shrugged. "Telepathy?" he joked, although unlike Caleb he was still a bit on edge... "I dunno. Try pushing buttons until something works," he suggested seriously.

Skylos looked at Masamune and actually took what he said to begin with into consideration. "Well you know...That might be correct. It is 150 or so years into the future. I would assume something like that would actually be invented by now." He laughed. "Though it might just be voice activated. They all have built in microphones, afterall." He shrugged. He looked at the buttons on the monitor, but they only had the usual menu buttons for changing the monitor settings. "I'll be the one to look silly if this doesn't work. Computer, open internet." he commanded.
The lurker look in on the two curiously. Strange that they were gussing how a computer worked...

"Navigating the internet by voice only? This should be interesting," murmured Masamune wryly, waiting to see what would happen.

"I'm sure you find the internet interesting anyways." he laughed. The internet loaded so fast that he hadn't even noticed. "Whoa. Looks like they fixed slow connection. Find: News." The computer loaded a page with the latest results. "Play results?" He asked. The video buffered in a flash. "Think it will be interesting?"
The lurker knew it would be.

"Brace yourself," cautioned Masamune quietly, his feeling of unease having peaked, before commanding, "Play."

"Playing last news clip from December 12th News." The computer said aloud in a female voice.
A blonde woman appeared on screen and began ranting about the weather. "High of 105, sunny. Not a chance of rain." It switched over to a man at a news desk. He ranted on about local news and then it turned into the top story. "The World Union of Presidents is holding their meeting today in France. The big topic of this all important meeting is on World Peace. perhaps this will end all of the rebellions that our Earth is faced with de to today's failing economy. And now for sports..."
Skylos spoke. "Pause." he then turned to Masamune. "World Union of Presidents? That sounds like a bad idea..." He gritted his teeth. "...And a high of 105? It's December!"

"Global warming?" Masamune shrugged. He then frowned as he considered the bulk of the news bulletin. "Failing economy? Rebellions? I don't like this. It sounds too much like how things were back at the start of the Sengoku."

Skylos frowned at this. "But now it's at a world scale." He scratched his chin. "But on a lighter note...it seems that the Presidents of the World or whatever is trying to do something about it." Skylos then bit his lip. "If something were to happen to every President in the world..." He looked at Masamune to see if he would think the same thing he had come up with.

Alarm appeared in Masamune's eyes. "What if something already has?" he demanded urgently. "What does that watch say the... wait, nevermind. Computer, display date!"

"December 12th, 2154." The computer thought for a second an answered. "That news was the most recent news that has been offered. This news was posted on December 12th at 2:00 PM."
Skylos nodded. "That was an hour and a quarter ago... When and where is the meeting?"
The computer answered. "December 12th at 4:00 PM in Paris, France."
Skylos brightened up. "We have 45 minutes!"

Masamune breathed a sigh of relief, but there was one thing still bugging him... "Computer, why are there no people other than us in here?"

"I can answer that." The lurker had entered the room. He was glowering. In his hand was a gun of some sort...
Skylos tensed slightly. "Yeah...and?" He frowned.

Masamune turned slowly. "What, you murdered them all or something?" he asked the lurker, his voice dripping with sarcasm. His hands had returned to his coat pockets.

He laughed. "Nah. Just the cops. Everyone else is just afriad of going out on the streets now. Everyone except you two oddballs... This is a Resistance City now." He glared and point his gun at Masamune. "Hands out of your pockets, sir." he scoffed.
Skylos was alarmed. "I think we need to...leave now." He offered. Skylos could teleport, but any sudden movements might make the newcomer shoot...

"Resistance. Great. Ikko-Ikki all over again," Masamune deadpanned. "I wonder who your Nobunaga will be?" Without waiting for a reply, hd turned to Caleb. "Getting out of here sounds good," he informed him casually.

The lurker laughed. "What? Am I bad company? Well you're not getting past me! Now who are you clowns anyways?"
Skylos casually lean on Masamune and answered. "Oh. We're good friends. Oh...Time Travlers too."
While the lurker gave a confused look, Skylos snapped and he and masamune teleported and arrived at Paris. Where to go from there was unknown to him. "Okay. That was close. Though you do raise a good point. Wil lwe be facing one that is as powerful as Yamiken? Or maybe it's just a normal person... Anyways, we're wasting time." there were people all around now. Most looked to busy to notice them.

Masamune looked about. "Paris... any ideas where this summit might be, then?" he asked. His knowledge of the French capital's layout was even sketchier than that of the city they'd just come from.

"I'll check the watch." he said since he had no idea himself. "Paris, France." he said to the watch. Again the watch gave a map. "Hm...Could ya give us directions to where the president's meeting is?" It drew a line. "This is one strange treasure hunt. C'mon." He half-ran/walked.

Skylos scratched his head as he tried to judge the distance. "It couldn't be more than a kilometer... We should have time to spare once we get there. I just wonder how we'll get in." he frowned. He knew they couldn't just waltz in.

"We'll cross that bridge when we come to it," Masamune said decisively. Privately, he shared Skylos' concerns, but he also knew there was nothing they could do about it, since neither of them had any idea of the layout of the building where this summit was to be taking place, or indeed anything more than a vague idea of what they had to do when they got there. So no use fretting over it. Speed, on the other hand, was of the essence. He hastened his stride a little at this.

Skylos nodded and quickened his pace to. He had an idea to get past the guards...but he really did not want to execute it. It was one of those powers you wish you didn't have. He frowned just thinking about it.

After a short, hurried journey, the pair reached the summit's location. Large, bold lettering overhead declared the building to be "La Centre Des Affaires Internationales". It was clearly a very recent construction, with he most futuristic (or, from the point of view of the locals, modern) architecture in sight. Above the lettering were various flags from countries around the world. France's was at the centre, of course, flanked by America's on the right and China's on the left. Britain's, Germany's and Japan's flags also featured quite prominently. Directly below the lettering, slightly above ground level and reached by a long, wide and shallow flight of steps, was a rather grandiose entrance lobby which jutted out from the main construct. Security, was of course, very conspicuous in the form of numerous security personnel and what looked like fingerprint scanners, although given the advance in technology, they could well be something different, like DNA scanners.
"Looks like the pace," observed Masamune, coming to a halt opposite the giant construct.
