Skylos chuckled. "That, or they'd call the army. Let's not take any chances." The needle pointed off to some office. "It's in there. At least this floor seems empty. C'mon." He opened the door and slipped in. There was a desk, some paintings, a window, and a bookcase. There were also filing cabinets and a green carpet.

Ponic looked around, mostly at places where books would be stashed, a shelf, a drawer, anything like that, "See it anywhere?"

Skylos was leafing through a bookshelf. "Not yet. The compass has turned off because we got too close. Oh well. It'll react if we find the right one."

Ponic looked under a few desks, if it wasn't in the common places...

Skylos then moved onto a drawer in the desk and opened it. "Ah. I believe this is it." He pulled out a musty book from the bottom of the drawer. He placed the blue book on the desk. "There are time runes somewhere in it."

"So how do we use this thing exactly?"

Skylos opened the book. "Oh, we just find what pages the runes are on, then I utter a simple phrase. It's that's easy."

Ponic nodded, "Well let's get a flippin then. I admit I'm a bit curious to know what timelline we're going to"

Skylos flipped a bunch of pages before he finally found it around the end of the book, but not much past the three-fourths mark. "Okay. Ready? Time is relative." Skylos said. The book started glowing, and then a Time vortex that was all different shades of blue appeared. it sucked them in a threw them down the tunnel. In what seemed a milisecond, they were deposited in the sand on a beach.

Ponic looked around at the beach, "Please, please tell me we didn't just pop up in World War two...."

"It's a too bit cold to be D-Day." Skylos remarked. Actually...it was really cold. "I'd say we're rather far north." Skylos looked at his watch, but the year failed to register. "Oh lovely. I don't know where we are." He looked at where the beach headed to, and he thought he saw structures in past the trees.

Ponic looked at the trees, he walked a bit closer to them, "We won't know where we are until we take a closer look. I know of a few beaches in history myself...if this isn't from World War II or something, then the only other one I know that could be cold would be a spot where the Vikings land, course I don't see many ships right now."

"We're definitely far north, that's for sure." He paused. "Or far south. But most things happened way north, right?" Skylos scratched his head and moved into the forest. "C'mon. Let's check out those structures I can sort of see."

Ponic looked at one of the structures outside, he spoke telepathically just incase, "Think they're abandoned?

It's possible. It's also possible that we're just on the right side. Skylos put his hand up to it. It's stone. I think we're rather early on in history.

"Most likely, which means if I was to guess these are likely warriors we are dealing with...you got any idea what kind of warriors were involved with beaches and used stones with structures? Aswell as were up north..."

Vikings? That still sounds best... Other than that, he didn't know. And why was his watch failing to work? In any case, let's see if there are more structures on the other side of this one. Maybe there was a whole villiage of them.

Ponic walked around one of the structures, "I see more Caleb, looks like whoever was here there are more than one of them."

Skylos came around. There was a whole circle of them. Oh. I think it is a village...Maybe. he looked around and there was a somewhat paved area of bricks. Probably the main square. There was a raised area for officals.

"I'm starting to think it is Vikings, this village seems abandoned almost...Vikings were known for coming in then leaving." Ponic said telepathically as he looked at the village

I think we need more evidence. I mean, everyone could just be inside...at a town meeting somewhere... Hunting...? Skylos shrugged. Let's looked around.

"I'll stealthy and look in one of the buildings." Ponic walked inside a shadow and arrived in a shadow in one of the buildings, but he didn't step out, he looked around for anyone, even listen for someone snoring maybe

There was a woman and a child in the one he went into. The child was dozing off on a pallet and the women was simply preparting a meal.
Skylos snuck into one of the bigger buildings. It was a temple of sorts. "Whoa..."

"What?" Ponic asked

Oh sorry. It's a temple. Lots of gold and jewels here. Actually, the family Ponic had found were wearing much gold jewelery and precious stones.

"Well these people have loads of jewelery and stuff as well. Now I really wonder who all these people are..."

Maybe there're like...Dislocated Aztecs...or something... Skylos scratched his head and backtracked to where Ponic had left when he went to spy.

Ponic came out of the structure, "So you've done this more than me, what would you say we do?"

Well, we've arrived before things have gone haywire. So it's generally best if we wait things out. of course that might not work well. People were returning from the forest now, in two lines. They had spears and were dressed in crude armor. uh-oh...I hope they're friendly.

"I'd rather not take the risk..." Ponic grabbed Skylos' arm and pulled him into a shadow, waiting to see what the apparant hunters do
