Noah grinned widely and then ran up the stairs faster than he had done only a few minutes ago. His left hand became empowered with Light which then became solid. He took from his robe, his warhammer and tried a frontal assult on Yamiken by swinging the hammer with ease, aimed for his skull.

Yamiken teleported out of the way of Noah's attack, appearing behind him and unleashing a blast of Dark energy at him.

Noah jumped up once he saw that his attack failed to connect. He had expected a back-attack, as that was a common response to a frontal attack. Instead of turning, which would prove to be useless, he had jumped and turned. After he executed this move, he pointed his left index finger at Yamiken's chest and a blue beam fired in the direction of where he aimed.

Yamiken leapt up into the air out of the path of Noah's beam, hovering there while launching a shockwave against him to knock him back into the altar.

Noah was grounded by his attack and was thrown against the alter. Though it pained his back, he had to recover quickly. Since he was still facing Yamiken, he fired a barrage of small blue light orbs at Yamiken.

Yamiken dropped a little in the air and ducked to avoid the light orbs, then sped through the air towards Noah, aiming to drive his katana through his opponenets shoulder and pin him to the altar. Obviously he had to be careful not to kill him, though...

Noah knew that Yamiken wasn't going to play sitting duck with him, so he spun out of the way as Yamiken got close, hoping that the alter would damage the katana. After all...it was made of pure energy from the Universes and probably indestructable. Of course he also made an actual plan since Yamiken was no dolt. He increased the gravity in the area on top of the steps so that Yamiken would come down faster, and, harder.

Yamiken felt the gravity around him intensifying and responded by teleporting before he could be creamed upon the ground. He reappeared directly in front of Noah, continuing to thrust with his katana but also now hoping to make eye contact, for fairly obvious reasons.

Unfortunately for Noah, he had forgotten about teleporting and because of the sudden appearance of Yamiken, he flinched his eyes shut. ...Darn... He fumbled around with his warhammer and swung as a response to his attack, his eyes opening and not knowing exactly where to look.

Yamiken was easily able to avoid Noah's attack, flying over him so that he'd be behind him when he opened his eyes. While manuevering, he'd been gathering Darkness energy, and unleashed it full force into Noah's back when in place with another force to send him flying and leave him motionless for several crucial moments.

Noah didn't panic after this. He knew that his attack would most definitely miss, so he braced himself in a Light shell so that he would be hurt as much as he would have been. Once he was hit, he came dangerously close to one of the staircases. His mucles were numbed and his warhammer had fallen out of his grasp at some point. His left hand twitched, as the light mould he put ther eat the beginning of the battle had fully protected it from the numbing. His hand started sparking with blue electricity.

This wasn't lost upon Yamiken, who began readying some Dark energy in his katana with which to parry a direct attack. He also channeled some energy into raising Noah off the floor and into the air, taking the time as he did so to walk over to the dropped warhammer and kick it down one of the staircases.

Noah's electricity continued to build in his fist as he left the ground. He directed the flow of electricity into his body to cleanse the darkness effects that were placed upon him. Even with his body functioning correctly, he was still floating in the air against his will. An itching came over him. "Ah ha..." He knew what to do now. His gravity was still in affect for the air...and it was brushing up against Yamiken's levitation. Since the two were opposites, they were creating Void. He directed his gravity control to the ground as well, so that the void would be attacking both of them.

Grey cracks appeared between the pair and were growing bigger by the second. Realising that maintaining a deadlock would end up killing them both, Yamiken ended it by sending one final burst of energy Noah's way to send him tumbling down the stairs.

Noah flew back into empty space and began decending to the ground, far below. He flipped in mid-air and landed on the ground with slight discomfort from the long drop. He sped back up the stairs with his left arm glowing blue. The blue shattered from his arm and the shards flew at Yamiken (The shards react with darkness and explode when subjected to it).

Yamiken flicked his katana, jetisoning the dark energy it had been building up and swift arc which slammed into the blue shards, detonating them long before the reached him. Since Noah was going so fast, it was also possible he would be caught up in the series of explosions, which weren't insignificant as Yamiken had had some time, relatively speaking, to build up the energy in his katana while Noah recovered from his fall.

Noah sped through the explosions, the light bursts that came from the shards not affecting him. Once at the top, he atempted to uppercut Yamiken with with a fist full of blue light.

Yamiken jumped back out of the way of the uppercut, simultaneously unleashing a blast of his signature Dark lightning upon Noah, seeking to surround him with it and thus root him to the spot.

Noah retaliated by matching Yamikens attack with his blue lightning. Once more, the result would be void, but no cracks in reality this time. Void lightning would shock the area for as long as either held their attack.

Noah continued to increase his flow of energy to match Yamiken's. The void lightning was hitting him regardless of its position. He gritted his teeth and 'sucked it up'.

Yamiken of course was also being hit, causing him some pain. However, he didn't want to have to back out of this deadlock. Gritting his own teeth, he continued to more power into his blast. At this rate, whoever had the most power - or perhaps the most luck - would emerge victorious.

Noah began to wince after holding it for so long. He had never really trained much with Void because Belak was always sitting in his corner, and training was scarse between the two. But he knew that he couldn't give up... He had betted his home... His muscles were trembling and exhustion was settling in. Still, he continued to raise his Light power. His limits were close. He took a step foward, knowing that the pain would increase, but it would be shared more as well.

Yamiken grimaced as his own pain continued to get worse. Trapped in a deadlock? an inner voice scoffed, taunting him. That's not how you're supposed to operate. You're not meant to get caught in a contest of strength. You're meant to avoid it with intelligence and cunning! The warlord growled inwardly in response at the voice, but knew it was right. He wasn't meant to find himself in these situations. As it was, Noah look almost ready to give... but he himself wasn't exactly in great shape either. If he went on like this, it would be a close-run thing at best. So instead, he came up with a plan. It would be risky... but probably less risky than keeping this up.
Besides, since when have you been opposed to a little risk? that voice returned.
So, while he increased his power to match and then exceed Noah's, Yamiken also began to take steps forward, edging closer to his enemy. More and more Void rushed through him, giving him ever-worsening jolts of pain and draining him further still, but if this worked it would soon all be over...

Noah cried out in pain as the attacks got worse with every step his foe took closer to him. While he knew that Yamiken would be getting hurt even more as well, he was taking the most of the pain and wasn't used to this pressure. His Light robe's defenses were failing now and it was starting to shread in many places. If it was destroyed, then his body would be in great peril. But if he didn't continue... What hole have I dug myself into? He then came to a decision. I'll push once more...But then...I'll have to give up. He was only able to move one foot forward, but he pushed his power to max. If this wasn't enough, then it was over.

Yamiken was forced to halt his advance momentarily as he gasped with effort and pain. But he stood firm, just. He also sensed that Noah had put all he had into that attack. Well... seems I won the deadlock after all, he thought with grim satisfaction. Seeking to finish things, he gave one final push to break through Noah's defences.

The lock shattered with such great force that Noah flew back and slid against the ground on his back. His face was against the ground and his eyes were closed. His muscles were giving involuntary spasms and he was generally sprawled on the ground. His robe was smoking and actually sparking with residual void energy. He made no atempt to move, as he was half-concious.

Yamiken stood there for a moment, panting and savouring his victory, before striding over to Noah and holding his katana to his throat. "Do you... yield?" he gasped out, smiling grimly despite his discomfort.

Noah groaned... and moaned. "...Yes." He said, honestly not wishing too, but there was no way he could even stand up. He averted his half-concious glance, not wanting to look at Yamiken, but mainly not his friends.

Yamiken's smile broadened a little. "Excellent," he murmured, removing his katana and walking back to confront the others. "Well, your friend has conceded defeat," he announced to them. "Will you honour his agreement?" This should be interesting... he considered amusedly.
